I've just read something that says an average family of four spends £225 a month on food
I think that would last us about 2 weeks at a push

NO ASDA CHAT
They were kicked to the kerb. How much do you spend a week then?
(, Wed 1 Oct 2014, 13:37, Reply)
I reckon I spend around £30-50 a week on just me.
I usually cook stuff from scratch but don't eat extravagantly. Mostly curries, chilli's, chicken and rice etc.

Probably a ton

Exactly
So you'd last about a fortnight then. Not including any takeaways, wine, beer, pub, etc...

It's probably done by the same pricks who think a ready meal 'serves 4'.

This^
I want fed, not starved

I reckon I spend more than that, £225 a month doesn't seem like much when you include treats'n'stuff.

(, Wed 1 Oct 2014, 13:46, Reply)
Shit innit?
You should get hold of the BBA expenditure guidelines, some are laughably small whilst others just represent extravagance.

By the time you've bought some decent cheese and a steak or two...

Food budgets are ridiculous.
Almost £500 for a couple with a sprog, although there's nothing that defines how many kids.

Travel allowances are £180 then an additional £10 per person, which is retarded.

Single parents can spend £60 on childrens activities, but a two parent family is restricted to spending £40.

Fucking banks.
