What does your desk look like?
I work in an office and my desk is, to be honest, a tip - I'm expecting a Biohazard sticker to be erected some time soon:
Am I the only one that works in this kind of squalor?

My desk
is equally messy, I must admit. But I'm working on that.
My normal system is to have things kind of spread out, but I always know where things are. It drives others insane because they can never find anything on my desk, but if they ask me for it I can generally hand it to them in seconds...

Today
This is it today and, to be honest, the senior manager sat opposite me has commented - again - how vile it is.
I think he's more offended by the pile of Tea bags in the Greggs soup cup.
It's not my fault - if they'd not taken the bins away, I wouldn't have let it get to this state.
The cleaners won't clean my desk either. And no, banana and marmite is just weird - Banana and peanut butter, on the other hand....

that's disgusting, dude!
My desk looks like no one sits at it. If it wasnt for the name plate, you would think that was the case.
My desk at home is the same as is my bedroom (in which the hangers in my wardrobe all face the same way and the clothes are organised with top clothes at one end and bottom clothes at the other then sub-organised into casual, sporting and work).
I look scruffy in public but I'm quite the clean freak at home.
edit: Banana and peanut butter is an Elvis special.

Up until a week ago!
My desk was worse than that!
Now, it's all neat and tidy!
And Marmite FTW!

I've seen far worse, I assure you.
I worked with an equipment engineer whose cubicle was so packed with odd bits of machinery and electronics and papers that there was room to walk into it and room for him to sit- and no more.
I work under an engineer whose cubicle is about four to six inches deep in paper, and has lots of odd bits of machines all over besides- steel cables, Eurodrive AM Adapters, helical gears, a pneumatic cylinder, aluminum floor supports, you name it.
Mine looks almost monastic by compare.

Why?
Why do you have a conference phone on your desk?
And the bins were removed to encourage you to bin things properly - or, rather, to reduce the workload on the cleaners....

@JTW
For phone conferences, of course!
Seriously though, we got it before the current phone system was installed and it's redundant now, as the new VoIP phones are all speaker phones.

woh
your desk looks almost identical to mine, even down to the dual screen setup.
I don't see any issue with an untidy desk, I know where everything is on mine and that's what matters....my md hates it though!
