As promised
Pics of the new kitty.
He no longer smells but he's still very, very thin - that won't last though, not at the rate he's hoovering up the grub.

Oh, and those 'questionable' white marks on the carpet?
Crap decorating skills.

His facial expression
gives the appearance of sheer indignance. He clearly doesn't like you, you should give him to me.
EDIT in the middle one, he looks as though he should be smoking a pipe, and say 'what-what, tally-ho!'

He looks like a cat who will soon be wearing the trousers in your home.
Mark my words.

He's Kenneth Williams
reincarnated in cat form. Looking down his nose like that, can't be anyone else!

My dads name is Humphry.
'Humphry couldn't get his bum free' was the usual thing they used to say to him at school.

One of my sons has already started calling him
Hump Me
Both the cat and I frowned.

He's very cute
I spent Saturday and Sunday night willing myself not to move to move because I had a cat on me.
The second I moved, the purring would start.

We got him from the local animal sanctuary
He'd been taken to their vet and it appears that he was abandoned.
I don't think he'd been at the sanctuary for very long because he was very, very smelly when we picked him up as well as being considerably underweight. He no longer smells as we gave him a bath - if you can call pouring warm water all over yourself while the cat looks on in disgust a bath.
He is very affectionate and given the chance he'll scrounge and scavenge for food - despite his food bowl being available and never empty (dry Science Plan).
But he seems to like us so I guess he'll stay.

Nice that you could give him a home.
Has he been wormed yet?
It could explain the voracious appetite/thinness.

He's been given a course of Drontal
He does look as if he's struggled to keep himself fed though. I think the poor little fella has been neglected for a while.

Give him a few weeks
and he'll be packing it on.
Time to feed up for winter.

I love your description of trying to bath a cat.
I used to have a kitten, JJ. She would swim in the bath with me. Loved every second.

That is without a single doubt
The most supercilious cat I have ever seen - he knows he's on to a winner.
(And spookily similar to my youngest flesh-ripping psycho fur monster)
