I happened upon this a few weeks ago, but now it doesn't seem to work on qotw. What gives? Is there an alternative?

It was something that we weren't meant to know about, and it's been taken away now.
For some reason.
I imagine that there'll be a "popular" page created at some point, like you get with the Image Challenge.

...it does make me wander what the progress of development is on this site. I appreciate the god/mods have real jobs, lives etc. But there are so many tweaks that have been mentioned in the Bugs and Feature Requests that would make a big difference around here. And also a few glaring oversights, such as the search bugs etc.

I was attempting it barely a minute ago. It hasn't worked for a week or so now.

QOTW is so much more enjoyable reading it through /all. Now I'm only reading the best of after each one closes =/

I think the elimination of /all gives people who don't post in the first day or two a more fair shot at making the best of. if something's top of ``/all'' in the first day (not very hard), people click it just out of curiosity, and may not get round to equally good/hilarious/disgusting tales further down the list which may they may have otherwise been inclined to click.

Yeah, I tend to go along with this. Keeps it a bit more balanced.

Plus I know a lot of people who use it just because they want to see how well they're doing. Ha!
