I'm guessing you're all in bed with hangovers or something...
Ah well!

Up to anything interesting today?
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 12:12, 107 replies, latest was 16 years ago)

...I'm at work.
Started at 5am, finishing soon.
and I can't even have a drink tonight as I've got a company medical tomorrow.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 12:23, Reply)

But then again I guess someone has to help herd the maddening crowds.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 12:28, Reply)

how are you?
I'm back at work, woo. But it's the last panto performance, double woo!
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 12:30, Reply)

Good to hear it's the last performance, should be a massive night of drinking... then since when do the likes of us need an excuse? I'm just doing my washing, passing the time, going slightly stir-crazy and actually wanting to go to work tomorrow, this cold of mine seems to have fried my brain.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 12:33, Reply)

THIS IS THE HANGOVER TO END ALL HANGOVERS
I THINK I MAY BE DYING
SEND HELP
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 12:50, Reply)

I'm just off to have an MRI on my cervical spine after being injected with Gadolinium. It's a first for me!*
*I also have a hangover the size of Bournemouth due to drinking a vast amount of alcohol at our xmas "do". I dread to think what the bar bill was but I clocked how much a large G&T and a pint of Stella cost.Go on, guess.
Give up?
£14.45p FFS!
I know, I'm rambling.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 12:51, Reply)

where the hell was that? The only time I ever paid over the odds was a celebrity night club in London.
A G&T was £12. *shudders*
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 12:57, Reply)

I just woke up to find cold pizza in the kitchen, which I've now eaten.
I'm considering going back to bed now though.
Although I could brave the shops and get some meat for a roast.
*shrugs*
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 13:42, Reply)

Yes, meat!!!
Anything to counter the sickly schmaltz of the Carpenters which some muppet has decided to put on our sounds system.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 13:43, Reply)

No hangover for me - I'm just being lazy.
Yesterday, I went on the National Climate March, and in the evening, went to an after-party which consisted of talks, live music, performance art, stand up comedy and a disco. The talks were up-beat and positive instead of the usual doom and glooom. They were discussing a project to build large-scale solare energy plants in the Sahara desert. Despite all this, the talk by the Vegans did not convince me to give up meat.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 13:55, Reply)

Nothing is going to pry me away from my bacon butties. If we weren't meant to eat meat, why do we have a digestive system geared toward the consumption of meat, and secondly, why does it taste so damned good?
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 14:20, Reply)

should be the end of all arguments towards vegetarianism/veganism.
Meat is just too damn goood

How are you this evening?
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:20, Reply)

I've got to be up at 4am for a pickup at Heathrow :(
And I've just been invited to the pub. Bah!
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:24, Reply)

I'm fine thank you, my lovely. I had immense fun yesterday visiting our mutual friend and was very well taken care of :)
Today I had lunch with two of my favourite girl friends and now I'm back home, about to do my portion of the housework and then reward myself with some of the cake my flatmate made yesterday.
Did you have fun this weekend?
Edit: Hello No3L! Off to the pub with you then - you'll be OK (as long as you're not over the limit!).
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:26, Reply)

Glad you had a nice time.
We had a quiet one really - spent outrageous amounts of money on nice, gluttenous food and good alcohol:D
We even had Angel Delight for pudding!
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:27, Reply)

I'm in two minds. I'm not known for my restraint when it comes to beer.
I might just stay in. If I work it right tomorrow it could be a four-hundred quid day :)
Edit: and allo BK!
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:28, Reply)

then there's no option really is there?
Beer, or 400 quid? Do you really have to decide?
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:31, Reply)

WIN! I love that bloody stuff.
No3L - hmmm, yes. Having little restraint myself, I can see the problem. Be good then and stay in. Plus it's already getting icy out there, so you'll want your wits about you in the morning.
/rare reason
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:32, Reply)

I would stay in if I was you. Sounds like you have similar restraint issues to me when it comes to pubs!
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:32, Reply)

I wanna be in bed for eight with a good book so I don't feel awful. All of the twenty-plus muslim drivers are off tomorrow for Eid so if I do a long day I could completely sort christmas presents and a few minor debts out.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:34, Reply)

That's why I'm here :)

Well, those too obviously.
I'm just in an unusally benelolent mood today:)

( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:50, Reply)

Though, I do still have a day left on mine (national holiday tomorrow, yay)
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:53, Reply)

Tell me about it.
Still, got next weekend to look forward to. And going to be so busy at work it'll go dead quick:)
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:53, Reply)

And what's the temperature like out there?
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 17:56, Reply)

yesterday was the Spanish Constitution, tomorrow the Immaculate Conception (Catholic country, Catholic holiday). People have been unlucky this year, as they only get one actual holiday - normally, if they both fall during the week, they don't work the 7th either.
Temperatures right now are bout 10-12º - and dropping
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 18:03, Reply)

*huffs*
Really don't want to go to work tomorrow:(
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 18:18, Reply)

You enjoying your work, though?
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 18:25, Reply)

We're just swamped - still haven't dealt with all of Wednesday's orders so there's a backlog of about sixty and people are off on holiday.
I'm just a bit fed up really:(

*can smell the roast being cooked*
I've had a very busy weekend consisting of lots of drinking and an unexpected trip to see Arsenal vs. Wigan.
Shame it's nearly over though =[

It should do, it'll be hectic for the next week or so then die off.
I think it may be time to start lookign for something else after christmas.

They just don't exist anymore! I'm sure that not so long ago there were photo booths in every tube station and in supermarkets...go looking for one for my student card today for two hours and they've all vanished. I ended up having my photo taken in a newsagent in Archway. GRRR...
I'm now putting the finishing touches to my case study - yep, still doing the first one! and watching Spielberg's Taken.
How is everyone tonight?
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 19:33, Reply)

That my computer has an annoying habit of crashing at a crucial moment.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 19:37, Reply)

Had a nice quiet one. Me and Lusty had ridiculous amounts of food and nice cider.
Just chilling out watching Sin City this evening.

there's a photo booth in my SU, but it's £4 a time for the privilege. The cheek.
Anybody up to anything exciting tonight / know a cure for the man flu?
Also: would people provisionally be interested in a b3ta meet up in Southampton?
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 19:39, Reply)

Time for a reformat Piston?
Mine cost £4.50 and I had the privilege of standing in the newsagents looking stupid (hunched over as the guy was too short to make it a head shot otherwise), while the guys fiddled with the screen behind me.
Glad you had a good one BK :)
Edit: Sorry Superweasel, I'm a poor student, so only go to London bashes.
( , Sun 7 Dec 2008, 19:46, Reply)

Yup, it was rather lovely. Got a nice bottle of sloe gin too!
I think most photo development shops will do a set of passport pics for you. I got mine done in a Kodak shop.

I'm good thanks, off to get some food and watch some tv. Managed to avoid watching Phantom menace this afternoon, as every other time I've seen it I've lost a friend, broken a tv or inflicted rage in some other way at its fail.

Luckily I was no where near a TV!

But then I turned the TV off in disgust.

The solution is simple.
Buy a refrigerated meat-van.
Run over cyclists on quiet country lanes.
Put 'em in the back.
Eat at your leisure.
It's a fuckin' win-win situation. No evidence to hide, no risk of meat spoiling, and you won't get fresher than that.

it may just work...however...meh, silly implications to think of that should just be brushed aside.
On a side note, I'm really not impressed with the dog that came into work yesterday and scratched the shit out of my hand. I just took a shower and foolishly allowed the shower gel (not tested on animals of course ,)) to touch my hand and screamed like a little girl at the pain. It's still really red and angry looking now. *whimpers a bit*
