Listen to 'Alien' and 'Strapping Young Lad' - my two favourite albums.
I've recently started listening to Divine Heresy and Heaven Shall Burn, they're both well worth a look!

Got "Memento Mori" after last.fm recommended it. LOVE IT!

By Camille.
I believe Youtube has clips of her performing "Au Port" and "Ta Douleur" from this album on Jools Holland, and I think you can listen to the whole thing on lastfm. It's completely mental but also really nice, and a lot easier to get into than Bjork.

This! Amazing. Go and see her live if you can. She's like a slightly more mental and French version of Bjork.

Quite a few just recently - Concrete Blondes I was reccomended a while ago and just recently I got the Bloodletting album, which rocks. Also got an album by Monica Queen who sings on the Lazy Line Painter Jane track by Belle and Sebastian, and it's also damn good... so yeah, pretty happy with CDs recently!

JM is a legend. I saw him play down in Wexford (Ireland) a few years back. He lives here (in Kilkenny) and plays regularly enough if he's not too fucked with the booze or his gammy leg.

You've made me put 'City' on ;)
As for new music, I recently discovered Imogen Heap. Not quite as metal as SYL though...

I can highly recommend Devin Townsend's (SYL frontman) solo albums; if you like SYL they're fecking awesome! The most recent one was 'Ziltoid the Omniscient' which lyrically is mental but musically is top notch. I love it.
And new bands, if you like SYL, go try out Textures and Gojira; forward thinking metal from Holland and France respectively...

On and On.
Don't ask me why - I just picked up the album randomly and it was on sale for 10 bucks and it's a bloody awesome CD.
Also Kaiser Chiefs - Off With Their Heads!
12 buckaroons. On my favourites list foreverrrrrrrrrrrr
