So I'll post it here...
I know quite a lot of you are in bands or are DJs or whatnot, so if you would like to play at a small festival in Hampshire in August, gaz me some details about your musical efforts.
If you're not musical but fancy pitching in I have plenty of opportunities for site crew, stewarding and first aiders, and probably some more stuff I've forgotten. I am something of a slave driver but you will get two square meals a day and it's the sort of hard work that's a lot of fun!
More details on the festival when we get the first press release out in a week or two.

If I get fired this year count me in.
Otherwise I may come to visit and drink cider.
Where and when will it be? Actually waht kind of music will it be?

I just not in a band, and am unable to help out. Sorry.

falls into the category of weird or depressing to the casual music listener.
I have pondered starting a music night called 'The Wristslasher Sessions' to find people of a like mind - as in, I find the music of The Smiths to be utterly jubilant - it puts me in fantastic mood.

If my band can't make it, I'm a DJ too, so count me in :)

Daylight Lies.
And we're doing some recording tonight, as my drummer is back from his two week ski holiday.
Also, we've got a wicked new guitarist.

we've got practice tonight which should be good. my new amp is the business, and we have a lap steel which our other guitarist has found he can wail on.
we're working on some drum and bass stuff :-)

We try to be as diverse as possible!
(last year we had everything from folk to breakcore to post rock to acid house to swing hop, to reel a few genres off the top of me head)
I will have a listen to Myspaces tonight and pass people's details on to the booking team, I'm more logistics and production really but I like to stick my oar into every aspect of it!
For those who asked for more details, the festival is called Woolfire.
Main website here (unfortunately still the 2008 site, new one will be up inside the next fortnight!)
Myspace here (think there's more photos on there than the website)
More photos here as well, there are even more online I'm sure but I can't find them.
Date hasn't been officially announced yet, but keep the middle of August free.
We are a friendly happy festival so thought it might suit you lot!

from my colleague that his mate went to the festival last year and it was awesome.

We're still pretty small, but I'm yet to hear of anyone (artist, crew or punter) who's been and not loved it!
( , Thu 29 Jan 2009, 16:06, Reply)

and a place at yours would make it two, so we'd be doing pretty well!
plus, I wanted to go to more small festivals, so a double bonus

For the stewarding/first aider thing, as I have not a jot of musical talent. And am quite local to this as well, and it will stop the annual family exodus to Wales- which is all good.
