just keeps on giving.
I think Australia has pissed off the Man Upstairs. First we had the bushfires, then half of Queensland is under water for weeks, then a bloody earthquake and now a bloody category 5 cyclone is about to hit.
At least this time it's not aiming at me. Looks like the Whitsunday Islands are first in the firing line then Northern Queensland.
Still, at least it's rarely dull over here.
Cheers

gotta take the good with the bad - despite all the natural disasters we still have a beautiful country.
Have you ever been to Ayers Rock? the country there is absolutely stunning.

don't get me wrong - I love Oz.
The cyclone is going to hit an island I've stayed on - Hamilton Island. I'd actually love to be there right now. I've always wanted to see an actual hurricane or cyclone. I did get hit by the tail-end of a hurricane in Barbados a few years ago. It was stunning and I almost got brained by falling coconuts.
Well, it was my own fault as I was floating on my back in the pool in a life-belt, drunk, watching these tremendous rain drops belting down. The I realised that raindrops weren't black and didn't sound like depth charges when they hit.
And no, I haven't been to Uroooloololoooloooo or whatever the hell they call it these days.
Oh - and while I'm on I that Aborrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I've never been to Hamilton Island. But yes Uluru is stunning.
I went on a camper van trip around Australia when I was nine - seen some amazing things and met some great people.

Its a big space. Somewhere in AU is copping it, always. Simple science. Same as the US and other large land masses. Its more a matter of what gets reported.

What they said, if you're going to be greedy enough to have a country that can comfortably swallow the whole of Europe, then you have to expect some sort of downside.
I really miss Australia.
