Inspired by what this jumped up little kiddy fiddling Nazi cunt has been saying

In my book that's effectively genocide, given how many people in Africa subscribe to, and trust, his religion. Someone should sue the fucker on behalf of the millions of people he's helped kill. Give him a few years and he'll be rivalling his old hero Adolf.

Any Catholics here? Be interested to hear how people can justify belonging to such an organisation in light of remarks such as this.

I feel so sorry for Africa.
First they had slavery and now this aids epidemic, not to mention civil wars raging and the place full of despotic leaders. The rest of the world just throws money at them which is stolen by the leaders and still we do nothing. Huge chunks of the country can't be farmed or grazed and droughts ravage them intermittently.

They just keep on living and procreating because that is all they know and now the Pope comes along and tells them to keep up the good work by producing more and more kids that will most likely die young.

Makes me a bit weepy if I think too much about it.

Edit - Almost forgot aparthied (sp?) How would you like being a second class citizien in your own country?

It really does make me wonder
how people can be so resistant to critical thinking. (I'm referring here to the Pope and the Africans, not Catholics in general.) It's blatantly clear that Africa suffers both from overpopulation and disease, yet here we have a supposedly educated man telling the world not to use condoms and loads of people in Africa blindly following him.

It's clear to us Loon
with our advantages of education and easily available information with which to make up our own minds.

Preying on the people in Africa (or the Middle East, to use your second example) who are more likely to be vulnerable, illiterate, poorly educated and willing to believe anything if it's said convincingly enough is reprehensible.

And we haven't even got into the Brazilian Oberstgruppenfuhrer's response to the rape and impregnation of a child yet... (linky, for those who haven't seen this)

Catholics = scum. I don't care if you believe in contraception yourself, or if you think of yourself as enlightened, allying yourself to such an organisation means you're fucking scum. You are personally supporting bigotry, oppression and mass murder.

I'm opposed to religion in general, but the Catholics seem to be about the worst of a bad lot.

The older I get the more I abhorr religion

I can't even begin to write a full response as I have to get home before midnight, but I will say until a couple of years ago I was quietly and happily an atheist.

Now, however I can't take the evil, bigoted, manipulative, non-sensical, backward looking fools any longer, especially when they brainwash their beliefs into children. I feel it's my duty to spread the sensible and right word of Atheism.

There is no such thing as a christian child, only a child of christian parents.

Hmm
I know a Catholic nun (a lovely woman btw) who ran, until recently, a charity in Zambia. She positively encouraged the use of condoms as a method of preventing HIV and AIDS, reasoning that "they're going to have sex anyway; at least let them be safe". A sensible approach.

However, a couple of years ago I also read an article on AIDs in Africa, and a sex education programme underway. They showed a couple how to put a condom on using a banana. So the couple were confused when hubby, who was already infected, managed to infect his wife. They'd done what the doctor had said, and used a condom.

Trouble was, they had taken the advice literally, and made the beast with two backs whilst a condom-clad banana sat next to the bed...

I wish I wasn't making this up.

But yeah, for a very powerful man to be spouting shite like that is worrying. And as for the second link - I only managed to read half of it before closing the link in disgust.
