Are you a QOTWer? Do you want to start a thread that isn't a direct answer to the current QOTW? Then this place, gentle poster, is your friend.

Mostly because I couldn't be bothered to make one.
Evening one and all!

It looks like I'm turning into the only one with immunity to thread-starting amnesia.
How are you all this evening?
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 20:47, Reply)

I'm not doing too badly. Was in uni 9 - 5.30 today, but it actually proved to be quite highly productive. Woo. Plus I only soldered my hand once. Go me.
Are we all up to fun things this evening? I presume Tulip is working?

I've just recieved a big pile of stuff from Amazon, so I'm a happy little Spakka.
@POD: That sounds painful. Doesn't the pain keep reminding you that this is a bad thing?
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 20:55, Reply)

But still I seem to do it quite a lot. I also managed to flick hot solder onto my arm at one point, which was actually a bit sore.

Bit quiet today.
EDIT: Winamp on Shuffle Everything has thrown up Kate Bush: Babooshka. I didn't even know I had this.

I hope you held it under cold water for a very long time.
is it still all hurty?
you are correct, btw, I am at work. again.
edit@spakka, what did you have land from the zon of ama?
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 21:13, Reply)

And no, I didn't put it under water, I kept soldering. And no, it's not sore anymore. Thank you for asking.
Sucks to be at work. I've just stopped doing stuff for the night.
Also, my awesome electronics board has finally been dispatched. This also explains why it hasn't arrived yet though...

how's monday in the uk?
I've only got 6 more weeks in america before I get to return, woohoo!

Shuffle gets more interesting when the shuffled songs trigger long-forgotten memories.
@Tulip:
A mixture of Books, PSP games, PC games and a CD and a DVD.
The books are the sequels to Harry Turtledove's Worldwar series.
I was given a £120 Amazon Gift Certificate as a Christmas gift by my company and I still haven't finished using it.

T'is windy here in West-London. I usually leave my 'bicycle pyjamas' (a plastic cover that protects my bike from rain and the eyes of thieves) next to where I park my bike when I'm away, but it must have been blown away.
Are you returning for good?
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 21:28, Reply)

moving your pin on the b3tamap!
What do you mean, obsessed?
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 21:29, Reply)

coming back for good - marmite, boyfriend, job, and baby on the way - all fine reasons to return!
am I still the only yank-land pin on the map LIC?
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 21:35, Reply)

Well, there was a brief appearance of a beernutz pin, but then it disappeared again.
I know there's a bunch of US QOTW posters, but none of them seem to have a pin...

unaware that the large land mass is actually the USA, judging by some of my colleague's geographical awareness. Honestly, one PhD student here thought that London was in amsterdam, and that Scotland was in Sweden.

After having lived in my flat for nearly 6 months, I've finally eaten the last of the biscuits I got myself when I first moved in!
EDIT: Evenin' Beekers.
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 21:49, Reply)

They're still a few months from their sell-by date.
I suffer from living near toomany convenience stores, and on my first day, went on a biscuit-buying spree. Staleness is my punishment for boundless biscuit buying.
EDIT: @TLiC: Yes, that is the Colonization series.
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 21:56, Reply)

I did something similar with teabags, lived in a place for nearly a year and still didn't finish the ones I bought on my first shopping spree.
Biscuits would never last that long in my house though, no matter how many I bought.
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 22:07, Reply)

So I still have about a quarter of the sugar I moved in with.
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 22:09, Reply)

Is this a record?
At the very least there's a dull letter to the newspaper in this, no?
( , Mon 23 Mar 2009, 22:12, Reply)

At least other people want sugar when they come round.
I don't do much actual cooking so I still probably have 2/3rds of the salt I moved in with.

Perhaps we could hold a b3ta bring-your-old-unused-ingredients cooking-bash?
Meanwhile, I'm now playing Powerstone on my PSP. I've not played it since I worked at a company that had a Dreamcast in it's recreation room. That was some 10 years ago.

are both preservatives in and of themselves.
So you can keep them effectively forever.
Not so much with other ingredients.

Quiet tonight innit?
I just bought another remote control Dalek.
*Sighs*
As if I don't have enough already...

Well, your efforts have to be applauded and respected if nothing else.
*nothing else*

I work hard, earn money, and it was thirty quid off...
Plus it's nice and shiny and silver with black knobbly bits. What's not to like?
