Stayed at the pub for a bit but decided to have an early night coz I've got to get up to receive a delivery. The delivery people are vague and only gave me a time between 8am and 6pm.

I'm trying to book tickets for D-i-T's bash in June. Every outward train seems to be booked, even though the site says the fare's are available. I refuse to believe that the twatting trains are all booked up so far in ad-cunting-vance. So I've got in touch and am awaiting a reply.
Bad enough they've put their arsebadgering prices up anyway, without this.

I don't have a telescreen so I'm missing out on my dose of pop-culture.
@VeeCee: Good luck with the interview. What sort of job is it?
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 21:26, Reply)

Have you tried booking through another online ticket site such as thetrainline.com?
Booking train tickets is gradually becoming more and more like booking plane tickets.
In other news, I've booked a place to stay in Edinburgh for the Friday pre-bash bash. It's a different hostel than the one I'm staying in on the Saturday, but they're just up the road from eachother.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 21:29, Reply)

And even back then, a return was £105. Had I booked it for a different date, I could have gotten it as cheap as £33. But on the plus side, if I'm stuck buying the expensive tickets, It means I can be ultra-flexible. I'm taking advantage of this by turning it into an ultra-trip.
Maybe we should organise bashes at non-popular travelling dates.

it's a reception job for one afternoon a week and the guy who owns the motel is my boss's brother.
very easy, not stressful etc.
DG - tell them to cunt off like the pack of cockbiting, tree fellating, dim witted grass heads that they are.
you'll feel better I promise!

can you not drive down or anything? I know it's more of a hassel but more flexible and if you share a bit cheaper!
*is quite drunk and has given up with spelling*

When plane is £100 and takes a quarter the time.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:06, Reply)

Apart from DG who's pissed off and TGB who's pissed ..... How are we all this dark and shitty night?
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:17, Reply)

I'm pissed as well!
And I have the new ISIS album that isn't out til May. *much gleeing*

Being drunked is evidently the future .... Good album?
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:21, Reply)

It's the very hazy future!
Its a very good album, but I'm harking after some good drinking music so switched to prime mid-nineties Monster Magnet:D
How's yourself?
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:24, Reply)

Monster Magnet is ftw ..... I found myself with White Zombie not long ago. Took me back to a simpler age: Beer, Music, Beer, Woman, Beer, Kebab, Casual sex.
Aaaaah, Halcyon days.
Edit. And also a wee bit of Coal Chamber.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:27, Reply)

because there were a lot of people raving about them.
It's shit.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:29, Reply)

I hate driving, and I certainly wouldn't want to drive in London.
And I've looked into flying, but the trouble is the time either side of getting there negates the overall quickness of it. Done it before, and it generally ends up no faster or cheaper in my experience.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:30, Reply)

But you can really drink to it!
How're you this dreary evening?
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:31, Reply)

Coal Chamber! Nostalgia!
They weren't very good really on hindsight!
And I quite liked White Zombie as well, at that time I was a bit young to be getting all the casual sex.
@LiC
Wrong! Wrong, wrong, wrong!
*edit*
Hey DG!
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:32, Reply)

Ignore my rantings; I'm a bit grumpy this evening as you can probably tell.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:35, Reply)

Beware the French ..... They hide in attics ;)
@ BK - I know but the album's worth listening to just for Sway .... Plus Rayna Foss-Rose is a fucking fox!
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:35, Reply)

Too prog, not enough rock for my liking.
As you say, to each his own.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:38, Reply)

I don't blame you; all trains to London booked up? Ridiculous!
@spunky
Agreed! Embarassingly, I had a poster of her on my ceiling as a teen. Never quite hit it though. Never figured if my ceiling was high or my wee fellas lack velocity:S
Nadia was even hotter though.
*edit* @ LiC
It was the psychedelic edge that made Monster Magnet. Dopes to Infinity is just amazing.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:39, Reply)

I even tried booking to go the day before - same thing. I think the site's borked. I shall try again tomorrow.
I'm going to stumble off now.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:40, Reply)

and slapped on my missus' CD of Bob Dylan ..... I quite liked most of it.
Up until then I had avoided him for some reason - No real relevance but just thought I'd share.
Edit: Night DG
Edit: @ BK ..... She's my desktop wall paper. The missus has become suspicious of me clingfilming the monitor.

@ spunky
I'm quite partial to a bit of Dylan. Prefer Tom Waits though.
Moved on to new Lamb of God now. Awesome album:)

And rive the world asunder.

On the subject of easy listening have you heard any Al Stewart?
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:48, Reply)

My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game is waiting there inside her tights, yeah
Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?
My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo
Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:50, Reply)

Haven't heard any Al Stewart.
LoG have just got pregressively better with each album. The new one's very very good.
( , Fri 27 Mar 2009, 23:53, Reply)

I shall see about sourcing some and shall give it mosh on the drive into work next week.
Al Stewart's really quite good (and surprisingly still going) - He did an album called Year of the cat which I fucking love.

My favourite on it is Lord Grenville but I realise it's not to everyone's tastes.
Oh yeah - Fucking good news. I've seen an old motorola V50 mobile advertised for sale on my local forum ...... Just waiting for the lady to get back to me and hopefully it'll be mine! *Glees* I loved that phone ...... Can't wait to get back to a normal phone and get shut of this fucking PDA thing
Edit: LOG downloading.

Don't think if I could take a full album in one sitting though. And I doubt the singer is really that good at cards.

thanks for the offer, but I'm busy tonight...
ah feck it, I'm on my way over, put the kettle on
( , Sat 28 Mar 2009, 0:34, Reply)

I dunno. I reckon it takes more staying power and patience than I have - I know people who go in for art & culture but I know it's not for me.
The outlaws tried to get me to go to some sculpture exhibition but I politely declined as I know I'd be saying "What the hell's that supposed to be?".
@ BK. I know, great in small bursts.
( , Sat 28 Mar 2009, 0:36, Reply)

Aarrrgghh! 50's setting. Big 80's synth-driven finale. Did noone point this out at the drawing board?
And have several million moist housewives never noticed?
@spunky
Exactly. That vid was hilarious:)

She's near fizzing at the mimsy if she puts that fucking DVD in .... I just retreat upstairs.
I quite like the Family Guy take on it.

That famous scene where Patrick Swayze catches Jennifer Grey, yelps "Rosebud" and then keels over?
That would have been far better!
"Noone puts Baby in a corner!"
Well they should. Preferably facing the wall.
