What're you all having for lunch then??
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 13:19, 51 replies, latest was 17 years ago)
Followed by shit-loads of housework. Place is a fecking pigsty. So good afternoon VC, but I need to pop straight off, for DG is gathering dirty dishes around me as I type, thus pressing on my guilt gland. Hope you are well?

have discovered how truly fucking retarded I am - managed to knock over and spill nearly half a bottle of red wine (shiraz - 60 aud). Broke three glasses. Dropped cutlery. Had the living shit verbally kicked out of me at work when a customer asked for potatoes and I swear on my life they DIDN'T.
But I have chocolate now and I'm stuffing my face back into happiness. Just give us a hug when you have a minute. I need one. :(
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 13:45, Reply)
Pity about the Shiraz - that's what I call a drink problem! Chocolate stimutates serotonin or some other such "feel good" hormone, I believe. Also, milk chocolate has a smidgeon of calcium, ergo it's good for your bones and will help protect against osteoporosis in later life. So tuck in to your heart's content ;o)
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 13:50, Reply)
the reason I knocked it over in the first place is because this old guy (70+) was being a fucking SLEAZE and all I wanted was to get out of there as fast as I could - he kept touching my hip and waist and it was YUCK.
But have gone through half a block of chocolate. feeling full. but better. Thanks for the hugs.

yum.
sorry to hear about your pervy customer, VC. brings back memories of waitressing hell.
@ Tourette's and DG, good luck on the clean-up. will be following your fine example shortly.

Some pasta noms on the hob at the minute.
Been out for a nice 7 mile walk so worked up a proper appetite.

Listening to spotify, planning a holiday in Scotland (I'm thinking a visit to the Isle of Skye), and I've just finished a pasta bolognese, cooked by my good self. I'm not just a good cook, I'm a fucking awesome cook!
Oh, and I've just realised I can hit the high notes in Freebird. Shame it gives me such a sore throat.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:20, Reply)
would spotify be?
I'm listening to the new My Dying Bride album - not exactly summer, but it's very good.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:22, Reply)
www.spotify.com/en/
It's a music streaming program. Like winamp shoutcast, in a way.
/Edit
VC, sorry to hear about the dirty old man.
Sounds like I'd get on with him :P
Nah, I jest. You don't enter people's personal space unless they invite you, or you shout surprise.

This is the first time in several days I can have a proper lunch. Have just had two bananas and am about to chase them down with orange-juice.
@VeeCee: Sorry to hear about the pervy customers. Enjoy your chocolate.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:23, Reply)
/hugs everybody.
I'm listening to REM and (still) eating chocolate.
Hopefully my Snow Patrol CD's are going to arrive in the next two or three days and then I'll be as happy as a pig in

The isle of Skye is indeed full of win - especially the Western part of it. Went cycling there two years ago and it was very lush.
BTW: Pity about not being able to do Friday, but then again, I caught a stomach-bug so was out of it for much of the week.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:25, Reply)
Another time perhaps.

Snow Patrol?? Oh dear. Well, there's no accounting for taste but personally I recommend Elbow and Mercury Rev.
Asleep in the back and The Dark is Rising respectively.
Two very brilliant songs, and some of my all time favourites.
Oh, and this, just for sheer awesomeness:

That's a surprise.

I am going to book my train ticket soon for the melbourne bash. woo. Can't wait to go. yay for b3ta bashes. I'm so excited.
EDIT: nothing wrong with snow patrol - getting their earlier stuff because it's way better then their newer stuff. Very good to study to actually. Nice and relaxing.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:29, Reply)
Both very decent bands.
I used to have All Is Dream by the Rev and then lost it. Oh well....
Night and Fog is the best track off that album though IMO.
*huge hugs for VC*

They're the same kind of school as Travis- too radio-friendly for me. I prefer something with a little bite to it, like Kyrbgrinder, or Threshold.

/hugs back.
I know it may seem weird but I'm actually not really good with physical contact - especially with guys (stupid fucking twat exbf). The fact he had his hand on my hips and waist just made my skin crawl and I ... gargh. I just hate it when people just... touch me like they have a right to put their paws all over me just cos they're paying 200 bucks for a meal. It's fucking gross.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:36, Reply)
I'm very tactile, but not to someone I don't know, and then only when the body language suggests it would be welcomed.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:40, Reply)
Should we meet, I'll stick to shaking hands and shouting "surprise".
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:40, Reply)
but having some 70 year old man leering at you and touching you ... christ. /shudders
On to a happier topic. What's everybody doing for the weekend?
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:41, Reply)
If you meet Piston, be careful he doesn't punch you in the gut!
Sorry PB! It did make me giggle:)
*edit* Having a very quiet one this weekend, playing footie tomorrow evening but that's about it.
Really skint til Friday now:S

But I guess it was funny. Didn't mean to wind you though.

Real footy or Soccer?
We'll have to play soccer one day! I used to be really good!
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:46, Reply)
It was funny - I was surprised more than anything else.
@ VC - by soccer we mean 'real footie' :D
But yeah, I usually play in goal for a five a side game once a fortnight.
It's good fun but really knackering.

Incidentally VC, watch out for some other b3tans and an obsure cultural English practise called "motorboating".
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:49, Reply)
I believe I've already come across that.
:D I slapped the guy who tried. he was my best mate but I still slapped him. Fairly damn hard.

Incidentally BK, Woodside and I are meeting up for a few beers on Friday night down Fernandez Brewery Tap, you up for it?
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:51, Reply)
to play at lunchtimes against the boys at school. They didn't like me playing cos I went all out and they held back because I had boobies - thus I had girl germs.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:56, Reply)
Maybe, I'll let you know!
@ VC
Right, we'll have a game when you come over!
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 14:59, Reply)
Bk, sounds good. Drop me a text if you're up for it.

I've been catching up on TV.
If you're in the States or have a fast internet connection I cannot recommend Better Off Ted highly enough. Best new show for some time.
"Ted: Veronica and I sold so much wrapping paper, not only are you going to Disneyland, but Mickey's gonna be wearing YOUR ears on his head. Oh, wait. That's a horrifying image."

cleaning and still have the living room to do and laundry to finish up!
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 18:43, Reply)
We've been hammering away at housework all day, for it hasn't been touched for a fortnight. Proper shit tip it was, so I've been going round in circles all day, picking things up and putting them back where they live. Started hoovering but thought I'd stop for a glass of wine and pop in here.
*wipes sweat from brow*
*does not have disco minge*
Are you feeling satisfied yet?

Did you collect the kitten yet?

Is it in monochrome (difficult I'd imagine for a tat) or is yours "coloured in"?

Will you call the new one Spitfire perhaps? Or B52? Or Lancaster? Or a b3ta name like Fokker? (As in Fokklewolf (sp?)) Meschershmitt is too much of a mouthful and I have no idea how to spell it :o/
