Unfortunately that behaviour is not unique to Athlone. Might I suggest a trip to Tralee, Limerick, Drogheda or the beautiful town of Rathkeale. Fanfuckingtastic places to observe pikeys in their natural habitat. If you buy one of the ladies a couple of bacardi breezers, you'll definately be getting some gowl later.

I was stuck in Athlone for about 3 hours recently
looking for a pub to watch the rugby in.

I went in maybe ten pubs and ran back out again.

It was like 'Deliverance'.

Such a shame too as the surrounding countryside is a pleasure to travel through.
