I don't really have anything to say
but with the absence of spill your pointless thoughts here and maybe talk about what you're having for lunch a HSH thread I'm going to wibble here.

My eye really hurts as well but as my boss isn't here I'm mainly just pretending to read documents while having my eyes closed. There is a risk I'll fall asleep but it's a risk I'm willing to take.

I was playing Descent (oh yeah who remembers that pile of AWESOME!) till like 1am as well. Maybe I got laser in my eye.

I'm not winking at you either.

In the absence of HSH
I'll join you on the *urgh Monday* front.

My random wibble - when I used to work at Starbucks I worked my way up to an 8 coffees a day habit.

It now appears that I can only drink 1 coffee per day, and if I do it before about 11am, it does NOT agree with me. My tummy goes all rumbly and I get VERY wired. Boosucks.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:21, Reply)
8 Starbucks coffees
is the equivalent of about 1 nice coffee. So you didn't do yourself any harm.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:22, Reply)
Yeah,
But I'm now a wussy can't even drink 1 coffee type - what happened to me?????
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:23, Reply)
Costa is better than Starbucks.
Much, much better.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:24, Reply)
Only in the sense that being shot in the head
is a better death than drowning.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:26, Reply)
Still, better all the same.
I remain correct and awesome.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:30, Reply)
URGH
No it is not!! Their coffee tastes like shite, and they don't understand the concept of a nice lot of foamy head on a cappuccino.

And the only starbucks to get coffee from is on Eldon St, near Liverpool St station. Coz even some Starbuckses are crap.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:27, Reply)
But Starbucks
Don't do Ristretto.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:31, Reply)

And the whole new level of wrong begins again

(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:27, Reply)
There is nothing wrong with TGBs clunge
just because it's a bit massively bigger than regular ones
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:32, Reply)
It's not actually bigger
its just because your penis is so small
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:59, Reply)
It's not small
It's just very far away.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:04, Reply)
I'm pretty sure it's
just small
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:06, Reply)
I had a fair few pints Sunday afternoon
And them a bottle of wine in the evening.

I'm feeling it quite a lot today.

I would agree with this.
You an AoE man or Total War?
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:11, Reply)
AoE?
Total war = armies facing each other across the Moravian gap, a la cold war. I'm amusing myself by investigating information asymmetry with mobile army defending against insurgency.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:14, Reply)
Age of Empires

(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:17, Reply)
Ah.
No, I'm using "real life" TM examples
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:17, Reply)
Ah right
AoE is fun for a blast though. That, and of course C&C Generals.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:19, Reply)
I have excellent taste

(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:11, Reply)
I'm quitting in a couple of weeks when I move house.
New start, new lungs. In fact, I'll be quitting smoking with my housemate. I feel sorry for the other housemate...
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:13, Reply)
Good for you :)

Why not make the best of a bad situation
And stick with it?
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:34, Reply)
Because
I like smoking
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:35, Reply)
That's a very fair point.

(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:42, Reply)

(, Mon 18 May 2009, 12:23, Reply)
I remember Descent
All the shoulder buttons were needed to do the necessary 3d rotations. Very confusing.

*ahem*

laserjism
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:55, Reply)
Well not on the PC
you need the mouse and the wasd keys.

Jism in my eye would have been a lot worse than a laser
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:58, Reply)
*Pokes you in the good eye*

(, Mon 18 May 2009, 10:57, Reply)
Descent was AWESOME
I remember playing deathmatch games across the NHS network with some guys while I was doing work experience with my Dad.

I whupped them senseless, then challenged them to some Duke Nukem 3D, where I spent the whole time shrinking them and stomping on them.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:02, Reply)
Get a laptop and some DOS knowledge
to my house then and we can play over the network :p
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:05, Reply)
I'll have to wade through the miasma of shit inside my brain
to find my old DOS knowledge. It's in there somewhere.

Ahh, the good old days of PC gaming, where you had to configure sound/video cards and fuck around with network connection settings in order to play.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:10, Reply)
I did have to
Wiki it up to recall how to actually run games in DOS! Although with DOSbox you have to mount drives and I always forget how.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:12, Reply)
Oh god-damn,
Descent was fucking great.
Did you ever play Descent: Freespace?
That was great too, no tunnels.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:08, Reply)
Freespace was AWESOME
And the sequel was even better, which is rare for well... anything. Crying shame really as I haven't seen a space-based flightsim on that level at all since. And I don't have a copy of FreeSpace 2 anymore :(
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:10, Reply)
Did you play
Tachyon: The Fringe?

It was fun enough, but made awesome by having Bruce Campbell voice the main character.

I bought the game just because he was in it.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:12, Reply)
Unfortunately not.
Not one I've heard of.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:13, Reply)
I'm still trawling
through Abandonia but they have most of the classics on there! Was looking for a racing game I used to play but can't remember the name of it which didn't help
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 11:14, Reply)
Best game on Abandonia is clearly XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Although I'm hoping to get the Close Combat series installed again.
