What delights are tickling your earholes this afternoon?
I'm currently enjoying a song from Jethro Tull's Songs from the Wood. Before that it was a concerted blast of songs by Kaol's band.

I need to get a record player
and convince Mrs V's dad to give me his collection of vinyl. it's full of glorious 70s rock, and he prefers CDs.

Sonata Arctica
Album - For the Sake of Revenge.

I love live albums. I espically love them when I'm walking and don't have to pay attention to anything. I can turn up the volume and let my imagination wonder as I walk on, concentrating on the music and the images in front of me as I work on auto pilo.

I'd really like to check them out,
but youtube isn't forthcoming with a great deal of them.
Any recommendations?

Thanks.
Shall have a look just as soon as I get off hold with bloody student finance.

EDIT: Oooh, I'm enjoying these very much. Gravenimage especially. Although the fact that evidently nowhere is safe from Tarja/Anette flame wars in the comments is incredibly infuriating.

I love gravenimage
I may be subjecting you lot to a story based on it later..

Were the first band I saw live, on their Catfish Rising tour.

The dulcet tones
of the HR girls once again discussing confidential details at high volume. We ain't allowed headphones and never have been.

Could you wonder over and casually repeat back what you've heard..?
"So, poor Gav from data entry eh? That many warts, he was bound to lose a lot of good flesh too..."

They'll soon learn to stop shouting.
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:28, Reply)
I could.
But it's like car crash telly. Must. Not. Listen.
"So, you've got a conviction for affray. Well don't worry it's all in confidence...."

As for what I've been listening to:
Terrorvision - How to make friends and influence people
Some old Therapy?
Some old Skunk Anansie
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:29, Reply)
Have you heard
High Anxiety by Therapy?
I love their old stuff, but for one of their more recent albums it's not bad.

Staind?!
Really?
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:30, Reply)
to be honest
I only really like Chapter V and Dysfunction but I think they're amazingly good albums.

And yes I know I shouldn't.
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 16:02, Reply)
Down on the upside = awesome
Though I reckon Superunknown is better.
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:34, Reply)

(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:34, Reply)
I concur

(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:40, Reply)
a popular stance
but for me Down on the Upside is the pinnacle of Soundgarden's achievements.
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 16:01, Reply)
Better than
Badmotorfinger?

(I actually think Superunknown is their best, and I haven't heard Upside in it's entirety; I just thought I'd wind you up a bit...)

I've got my 'Songs I can belly dance to' playlist on random.
So right now, The Key by Black Stone Cherry.
And before that: Emotional Man by Xandria.
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:32, Reply)
I don't have a playlist like that
I have one simply called 'Spastic airdrumming'.

Guess what that's for ;)
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:37, Reply)
Wouldn't be
spastic airdrumming, would it? :)
(, Tue 19 May 2009, 15:44, Reply)
