Good morning everyone on the start of this lovely bank holiday! How are we all today?
Right now I'm cacking myself. Tis my first counselling session today, and right now you could use my knees to pulverise rock.

I wouldn't be, the process is for you, not them.
Do it the way you want to.

you'll be fine. You and I both know that you've admitted you have a problem - so you're already halfway to getting that problem under control. You are full of win. You're strong and capable.
Plus you have a fuckload of b3tans to bitch to if and when you need us.
Strength be with you. Good luck!

so whatever the reason you're seeing them, try to go in there with an open mind and have faith in yourself that you can sort out whatever's wrong in your life.

But I do get water, and she said she'd vote for me if I ran for MP.

We got tea though, and a couple of us went for an icecream after.

I had a quite a good one a good few years ago. I'd alsways go in wondering what to say and I'd come out feeling really good about myself. Not necessarily for everyone but it worked for me.
Good luck!

on what your counsellor is like. I had one who was a bit "meh", but then I found one who I instantly clicked with and talking to her actually changed my life dramatically. She was astute, professional (and funny too), and she didn't just sit there listening to me talk about my problems - she took a very active part in getting me to see things differently and realising I could change whatever I wanted to.
Some of the things she said to me (years ago) I find myself repeating to other people - they've become part of who I am.
So don't be afraid to find another one if the first one doesn't click. You have to trust them and have a rapport.

I'm back from it. Thanks for the support you lovely people *hugs*
It was... interesting. Given me a lot to think about.

That's BRILLIANT that you were able to get into counselling and that it worked so well for you. Now the biggest challenge is to keep going - please, please do so; it's an iterative process.
