Present suggestions
My friend's daughter is 2 tomorrow. I need suggestions for presents suitable for a 2-year-old girl.

They're not "pink, dolls, EZ-bake oven, dresses" type parents, so really it's "how complicated can a smart 2-year-old handle" as the driving force.

Any ideas?

A box of locusts.

I'm not 100% sure
how much fun locusts are to play with.

They're awesome.
They jump, crawl and fly.
And they're also a crunchy, tasty treat.

A large very sharp sword.
Or some Duplo.

Hmm
Duplo now, you might be onto something there.

Sword would just be impractical. A better idea would be a brush, shaving foam and a cut-throat razor so she can shave daddy. And throw a tantrum if he won't let her. Win-win!

A snake
All kids love snakes.

Bath stuff
Bath beans, bombs, fizzy stuff. Things for the bath.

My kid used to spend up to two hours playing in the bath :)

It's too late now but for future reference.
You can get lots of cool t-shirts for kids on the internet. Rock t-shirts or just with funny slogans on. Good present for any type of child.

Rubick's Cube.
or a 1000-piece puzzle.

Depends on how much you like the parents.
If you don't like them very much or have any grudges, give the little girl a toy that makes very loud noises (plus a lot of sugar to really get her going).

If you like the parents, picture books are great. Never too early to get a kid to like books.
