Anti Virus
OK, Call me an idiot (actually, don't... ) but my anti virus is about to run out. How can I replace it for free?

Google AVG
It's what I use.

Hooray!
That and comodo pro as a firewall have served me well.

I'd go with Avast:
www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

There have been some problems with AVG in recent times.

Don't bother with AVG, it used to be good, but I got a few viruses through it last year
I have symantec pro now, but recommend avast as a good freebie

Another vote for Avast
I used to use AVG but the 64 bit version isn't free so I had to switch and have been very happy with Avast.

Just remember to either turn off its sounds or your speakers, it is annoying to be woken up in the middle of the night by your PC blaring out "Virus database has been updated"
