I think I've mentioned this film too much on /offtopic though.
Generally horror films aren't that scary. Especially films out these days. The stuff with the shit special effects of the 70's, 80's and early 90's were much better for some reason.

In the 80's I was but a bairn, so even prosethetic fake monsters that were clearly just actors in suits seemed far scarier than the 3d gimmickery you get today.
And the fact that Werewolves, Aliens and general freaks were actually plausible to an 8 year old.

American werewolf in London.
Or the bit where he has that dream in the hospital.

The lead characters mate who returned as a ghost (or zombie??) freaked me out, what with his entirely missing NECK!
Can't remember the plot too well, only the scaries

It's the kind of thing to destroy your mind as a child.
But looking at now is laughable!

First time I've properly screamed like a girl at a film in a long time.
I thought My Bloody Valentine was pretty scary, but that's probably because I'm shit scared of gas masks.

Ever put one on? They're not remotely scary, in fact, you can get a bit of a high from them as they restrict breathing to 30% of normal - you end up running up and down with your brain screaming at you "what the fuck are you doing, mate? Where's that oxygen?"
:D
