40 degrees is brain damage time, so I doubt that the shar pei's that survived are totally fine now.
People are shit.

Oh shit, I just agreed with Piston. It's a long slippery slope from here on in.
There's no probably about it though. It was very shit.

I just don't understand how people can be so stupid.
And thoughtless. And selfish.

cunting idiots!
What a hideous way to die. Our dog is never left in the car - if we're driving somewhere for a walk, all the windows are down in summer time. How many idiot pills have these fuckwits taken? It never ceases to amaze me just how spaktarded some dog owners are.

hate to say it but it's not just dogs that get left in cars here,
every single summer people leave very small children in the backs of cars while they "pop in to get something" from the shops or a friend's house. Then they end up taking longer then they think. There have been people leaving kids in the car while they go and play pokies. Children have died from this.

It's not just dogowners who can be total spacktards, some parents can be as well.

I read that and was like
"what are do gowners?" *spangs self*

bottom line though: not just dog owners, not just parents. Most people aer fucking imbeciles. that's the problem

hubbythesecond and I were at the fairgrounds and saw a dog in a car with the windows rolled up - this is SoCal, it gets fucking hot in the summer.
We went over to the police station across the street and reported it, they got animal control down there within 5 minutes.....the dog was about 20 minutes from dying.
The couple were cited, and subsequently banned from having animals.

Good for you
more people should respond like you did.

To be fair
Scottish people probably don't comprehend hot sunny weather.

It's to be
over 25°C in parts of Scotland today. That's mighty warm by Scottish standards. It may even get to 22°C here on the east coast. I think I'll need to get out the knotted hanky.

" ... peke at 26 degC" , tee hee.
- but I would break any car's window in these circs and not ponce about ringing 'authorities' first.

edit: ahhh, well. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/8129826.stm

It's not just the general public
Notts Police managed to kill 2 police dogs the other day doing the exact same thing.
Wonder if they get fined or sent down for causing 'unnecessary suffering' to what is essentially a highly trained working animal.
