Has anyone on here done one of those "Fuck it, ebay it" things? I've decided to flog a ton of stuff I never use on ebay, i'll get it all cataloged this week and up on there next week.
I've also just brought a PS3 on ebay, then all I'm lackin' is a decent sound system and some laziboys for the set-up, and i've got A/V Heaven.
So, in honnor of this; "Do you play video games? If so, what ones are good these days?" with an alternative question of "What films blow you away with PEW PEW bits?"

Theres the new Monkey Island episodes being done by telltale (first one is good if you enjoyed the originals). Other than that, Prototype is rather fun, if a little mindless (though saying that there is a semblance of a plot buried in the cutscenes). Other than that, not much out at the moment that I can think of (for PC anyway) but a few shiny looking gems on the horizon.

the AI is a bit rubbish though. Best achievement (just for shits and giggles) so far is managing to clear out a military base using the stealth consume so there was only one guy left in there. He didn't seem to notice all his mates were gone. Plus they don't notice you leaping around like a madman, or indeed landing in front of them unharmed after jumping from the top of a skyscraper.
Also you're the only person in the city in a hoodie, you'd have thought they'd have noticed that.

The world is pretty bland
Some of the powers are utterly useless
The story is terrible
Some of the enemies use knockback attacks which is frustrating and pointless
You get swarmed by loads of enemies and that's fucking annoying too
One of the bosses is a contender for MOST ANNOYING BOSS EVER
BUT
It doesn't seem to matter when you're running up the side of the Empire State building, doing an elbow drop onto a tank, surfing down the street using someone's body as a board, hijacking helicopters and using them to blow up bases and punching soldiers so hard your fist goes through them.

was really dissapointed when I saw how far you need to get before you unlock it after trying it in the first section.
Not that it matters since the fall from sky and slice things in two move for the blade will kill anything in a couple hits.
Also your list missed out the thermobaric tank, which is worth the whole game on its own. Especially when you find the one parked next to a kill challenge for you to take whenever you want.
I don't find the controls too bad (though playing on steam, shift to sprint and tab to target gets annoying).

The radial selection stuff's crap too, and stealth consume is a bit ropey since you walk slower than the enemy but running knocks them over and can break stealth (if you do it enough).
Not really tried the Thermobaric tank much apart from the one mission you're required to use it. I like my helicopters whirrrrrrrrrrr

What about Assasin's Creed?
Oooo, I should get Mirror's Edge, I quite liked it for the 360, it would be good to finish that.

Not tried Assassin's Creed - only got a PC and the version for that's a bit off apparently. Good reviews for it though (mostly)

The soundtrack really is, as you said, beutiful.

but I love the others more than life itself.
do you happen to have the first?
( , Wed 15 Jul 2009, 22:07, Reply)

Smokin' Aces and Shoot 'Em Up.
If there's an apostrophe in the title, you know it's good.
( , Wed 15 Jul 2009, 18:05, Reply)

LBP on PS3 is win, and I hear Ghostbusters is good too.
For PEW PEW PEW films, I like Shoot 'Em Up at the moment, bags of fun. I also like the Transporter films - yes, they're gash, but great popcorn fodder.
