Thanks BGB !
and yes, you're right. Easier to accept that things are as they are. Upsetting as it wasn't always this way - it's just got worse over the past 3 years, with no real reason behind that. Saddening to realise that once he'd have been the first person I told...

...but onwards and upwards.

How much worse has it got?
If his manner's got worse and different from how it was before for no real reason, then there's a serious possibility it could be the very early stages of Alzheimers. I know that sounds a bit dramatic, and of course I have no idea how else he is or whether he's just becoming a crotchety old sock, but I have several friends whose parents suddenly started behaving completely off with them, descending into downright nastiness sometimes and playing siblings off each other for no apparent reason. T'was the 'heimers starting to kick in.

He's only 62
too young for brain troubles...no, he's always been "odd". It's just got worse with age, as these things can do. And I've got less patient, being a parent myself and hopefully doing it the right way. Or at least not as wrong as his way...

Bollocks
My mum started becoming paranoid at 60. Early Onset Alzheimers. Dead by 63.
