Sympathy etc for Swayze fans
but Keith Floyd dying today has truely made me sad, especially after laughing my arse off during his interview with Keith Allen on Channel 4 last night. Well worth a watch, that.

Which TV chef made an impact on your life?

I hadn't heard
That he'd died. Always liked his style and I've adopted the 'tipsy cooking' method at home.

I doubt TV chefs can make an impact on your life unless you have an urge to be a chef.
I do have a thing for Hugh Fernley-Whittenstall however.

I guess I have an urge to be a chef then.
And Hugh makes me feel funny in the trouser department.

Actually, make me the meat in a Hugh and Rachel Allen sandwich and I'll die a complete man.

Hugh Fearlessly Eatsitall
He's a cunt.
Makes everyone believe that us westcountry folk dress up and dance to medieval music as entertainment on a Saturday night.

You don't?

(, Tue 15 Sep 2009, 11:27, Reply)
No way.
We're too busy shagging our cousins.

Gordon Ramsey
Through his Hell's Kitchen US series, has taught me how much fun it can be to scream profanities directly into the face of smug Americans.
(, Tue 15 Sep 2009, 9:12, Reply)
Gee whizz
I was watching that the other night and he is a total cunt. I know they are Americans he's shouting at, but he seems hell-bent on making them cry for the sake of entertainment. It was disgusting!

He does seem to take an "army" approach
Convince them they're useless to break all their existing habits and them gradually start praising them.

What always baffles me is the people who eat there. Unless it's free it seems like a very bad idea.

FUCK!
Didn't know Floyd was dead. I love watching his old clips on my favourite Saturday viewing (after MOTD) - Saturday Kitchen.

My favourite T.V. chef is Rick Stein. Fruits of the Sea series was fantastic and he always has a lot of passion for the smaller restaurants. In fact, I love it when he goes abroad down the lesser worn path finding proper local/traditional chefs.

I used to love watching The Two Fat Ladies.
Not for the cooking but for the banter. They would go off on a tangent reciting greek poetry or recalling a meal they ate with some toff who was a distant relation to the Queen.

RIP
After watching that documentary last night, it is pretty easy to believe though...i thought he wouldn't have made it to the end of the year...Shit, he never even made it to the end of the week.

I think i may well get bevvied tonight in his honour

For one horrific second I got Keith Floyd mixed up with Keith Flint.

*raises glass*
I really like John Torode (the Australian off of Masterchef), his book on Beef is brilliant. And his restaurant is Amazing. For posh stuff, though, I'd have to go for Marco Pierre White. *adds to list of mancrushes*

Oh, and the God that is Raymond Blanc. And Michele Roux.

Ching He Huang
Off the "Chinese Food Made Easy" program.

I'd only tuned in for a wank, but the food looked really good as well so I put down my cock and started paying attention to the recipes.

Wow,
I hadn't realised he was dead, he was probably my favourite out of 'em all. Haphazard cooking with much wine is easily the best technique of them all.
:-(
Dont' tell my mum, I'll have to break it to her gently.
