Home Sweet Home?
i'm off the sauce at the moment, so have one of these on me...

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:17, 78 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Evening Blaireuxes
Wasn't at work today, so spent the day sleeping and cycling.

And congrats for keeping up the saucelessnes.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:23, Reply)
I will have loads of drinks for you at the weekend, mmmkay?

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:26, Reply)
Evening Kristine.
If you want another excuse to have loads of drinks, have some for the drinks I'll be missing on Friday.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:32, Reply)
I don't need an excuse, since when do you need an excuse to drink booze?
What will you be doing friday?
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:33, Reply)
It's not an excuse
We've just decided you get to have all the drinks that nobody else is drinking.

I'm taking tomorrow off work, and therefore won't be out with my workmates. Still haven't decided what I'm doing with the day or night yet.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:36, Reply)
so you're taking off tomorrow, but you're not sure what you'll be doing that will keep you from drinking?
*confuddled*
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:39, Reply)
You'll be drinking all my drinks
along with b69's drinks.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:45, Reply)
how about I just drink my drinks and you can drink your own

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:49, Reply)
How about you get drunk on behalf of everyone else?

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:51, Reply)
this circle here, it's never ending

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:57, Reply)
The circle has been unravelled
and it's now a hosepipe that stretches from me and b69's pubs all the way across the Atlantic.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:03, Reply)
Well let me break it then.
I have the finances, lack of commitments and inclination to get as pissed as a little beetle tomorrow night.

Regrettably it appears that my drinking band of brothers are all otherwise engaged.

As we know, B3TA closes on Friday evenings, so what must I do?

Befriend random strangers in the local would seem to be the best option.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:07, Reply)
Good timing
I was just getting worried that Maladicta's contribution might just be the one that bursts Kristine, so you can tap into the transatlantic alcohol pipeline to ease Kristine's load.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:13, Reply)
best way to go, I met some great people that way
people alchies
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:14, Reply)
That works in the US
Although a UK accent opens doors in the US in most bars, especially out of the touristy bits.

Doesn't always work here though.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:31, Reply)
I clearly replied to the wrong post here
yikes

but yes, having an accent would most likely open loads of doors here, a girl I knew in highschool went to france after graduation and people made fun of her accent
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:02, Reply)
Back in the States, they just luvv'd my accent - especially in the Deep South.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:07, Reply)
I'm sure the girls thought you were the best thang sense sleyesed brehd

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:10, Reply)
In certain places
But most spectacularly Colorado Springs, CO., my accent opened rather more than just doors.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:13, Reply)
loads of trousers?

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:17, Reply)
And then the Americans refer to them as pants
and the British say I can open the pants as well.

Ah well, at least if us Brits do flash ourselves, we can blame it on a transatlantic misunderstanding.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:23, Reply)
pffffffft
I've never heard such a ridiculous argument as "Pants v Trousers" or "Pants v Underwear"
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:26, Reply)
It's all a load of pants anyway
But I like the "name the next stage of clothing after the previous" technique as an excuse to all get naked.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:29, Reply)
Frankly
Upon getting to that point semantics tend to be the last thing on my mind.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:32, Reply)
No thank you.
I have plenty of trousers.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:25, Reply)
Gadgee! Marrar!
not saving yourself for next friday?
shame on you!!!
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:22, Reply)
How pissed
do little beetles get then?
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:34, Reply)
Little Beetles everywhere
Scurry about their little beetle nests, saying "we'll get as pissed as a TD tonight."
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:44, Reply)
Clever :)
I shall remember this.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:45, Reply)
Awww, bless, what a sweet turn down.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:06, Reply)
off work again spazzmo?
you'll be getting a reputation...
allright K? not gonna try and mutilate you this evening...

fear not, the sauce-aversion is not permanent. simply a temporary balance-redressing exercise. i fancy a pint this weekend...a pint of G&T, the pint of champignons.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:41, Reply)
I'm just using up my remaining days of holiday allowance before it's reset.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:45, Reply)
i'll bet you'll be sitting in front of jeremy kyle...
pleasuring yourself...
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:47, Reply)
I don't even have a telescreen

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:52, Reply)
who said anything about a tellyscreen?
i predict you will be cycling to jk's house...
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:54, Reply)

I shall have champagnes this weekend I think
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 19:46, Reply)

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:03, Reply)
EVERYONE
especially you
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:10, Reply)
I r tired, mostly.
And everyone at work is pregnant, impregnating their wives or on maternity leave. I hate kids and I'm starting to feel left out...
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:16, Reply)
Your ovaries are clanging together
I know this feeling

fear not, this too shall pass
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:17, Reply)
My ovaries need to be removed.
It's like there's something in the water!
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:22, Reply)
I think your company needs to hold a seminar on contraception methods

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:18, Reply)
Sounds good to me
as long as they don't try to put me back on the pill. Mal does not like the pill.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:27, Reply)
the pill makes me :(

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:30, Reply)
Same as me.
That's why I stopped taking it - being awake at 3am crying with no idea why is not conducive to mental harmony... don't EVER take Dianette, it's evil.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:32, Reply)
it makes me double over in cramps and makes me omgbleed for three weeks at a time

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:02, Reply)
The blue pill or the red pill?

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:36, Reply)
Whichever one stops you getting pregnant.
Or, crush both and snort.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:36, Reply)
Take the red pill and transfer yourself into an alternate reality
Transferring oneself into an alternate reality is a fantastic method of contraception.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:44, Reply)
That sounds fabulous about now.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:46, Reply)
watched the matrix t'other evening...
STILL a cracking fillum.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:56, Reply)

That's the one - well worth a watch! I've got, queued waiting to be watched,
I've got, queued waiting to be watched:
Drawn Together
Moulin Rouge
Episode 1 of Kröd Mandöon from fecking ages ago
InuYasha (plus a couple of episodes from the new series that Flatmate has already seen)
Wall-E
Bean
rather a lot of Pokémon
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:10, Reply)
more offline, less online. that is the answer!
you reminded me that i have wall-e too! and also a short film from which district 9 came.

i also have a growing pile of books to read...
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:22, Reply)
I haven't even started on the books.
Bought all of LOTR and The Hobbit off Amazon last week and they're still in the presentation box...
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:31, Reply)
Don't waste your time then.
Sell them and buy something readable and entertaining.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:40, Reply)
Once you get past Fellowship it's plain sailing.
I've read them loads of times but they were my father's copies and he's a) in Wales and b) not speaking to me, so I wanted my own.

Anything else you can recommend, good sir?
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:45, Reply)
I just don't drink any more.
I've had my week's quota with work on Monday and got stealth rickrolled in a bar. No moar alcomahol for me for the time being.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:02, Reply)
Good timing
Kristine has volunteered to drink all the alcohols we're not drinking. I'm sure she can cope with a third person not drinking.

* extends the London-USA hosepipe to Ashford *
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:06, Reply)
Just attach it to HS1.
Job's a good'un. And I'm only little so my tolerance is shit, so it won't be too much more alcohol...
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:07, Reply)
* hollows out one of the rails of HS1 to be used as an alcamohol pipemalaline *
* takes care not to use the rail that's used for the orange-juice pipeline *
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:10, Reply)
There is one that is both.
It dispenses lovely Buck's Fizz.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:23, Reply)
DEpending on how the points are switched
you could create a mixture of both.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:28, Reply)
*emails operations department*
Let me get back to you on that...
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:30, Reply)
You could also create pipelines in the rails of the other track to increase the range of cocktails.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:38, Reply)
I'm going to Marketing with this.
Steal it and I'll fuck you up, bruv.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 20:47, Reply)
* Switches the points so my train instead of Maladicta's train goes to the marketing department *
And in the meantime, I invent a new cocktail as a result of the switched drinks-pipes.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:05, Reply)
Gah!
Foiled again!
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 21:11, Reply)
Never mind
Let's just drink send Kristine our new cocktail.
