Interview
Did anyone think that Eoin Colfer came across as a bit of a twat in that interview? Especially if you compare it to Wilf Lunn's interview for example.

Edit: For those who can't be arsed/don't read the frontpage www.b3ta.com/interview/eoincolfer/

What?

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 11:59, Reply)
Who? What?
Argh!
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:00, Reply)
having just read it
yes, he does come across as a twat, quite a lot in fact. I hope his frankly shocking idea of writing a sequel to hitchhiker's guide isn't as crap as I suspect it might be.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:19, Reply)
I'll give it a chance,
No point slagging it off until I've read it.
I could turn out to be good, you never know.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:22, Reply)
I didn't like zombieland very much
you're shit at recommending films.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:23, Reply)
Why didn't you like it?
Also, I'm glad I made you waste money.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:27, Reply)
You didn't make me waste money,
I've got an unlimited card.
You did however waste my precious time.

It wasn't scary enough really too comedic for me.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:29, Reply)
I didn't say it was scary...
"gore, action, humour".
It's one of those "If you liked Shaun Of The Dead..." films.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:31, Reply)
Yeah I really didn't like shaun of the dead,
The woman liked it though.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:31, Reply)
Well,
That's a plus at least.
You got your date tonight?
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:32, Reply)
Nah that's sunday.

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:33, Reply)
"how do you not like shaun of the dead ???!!!! WAAAAAA"
fuck off.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:32, Reply)
Eh?
It's pretty easy to not like that film.
One of those things that you'll either find amusing or really shit.
Like Will Ferrell films.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:34, Reply)
Yeah but it has a legion of fans who think it's great and get very annoyed when I point out it's boring.

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:35, Reply)
"Legions of Fans"
Are generally a bunch of annoying pricks.
I mean, I like Star Wars, but I didn't cry myself to sleep for a year over the newer ones.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:37, Reply)
I'm a self-certified star wars geek
and I like the new films.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:39, Reply)
FUCK YEAH!!!!!!
Well said Sir!!!

There is no such thing as a shit Star Wars film (although the Holiday Special comes close)
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:42, Reply)
This and this.

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:45, Reply)
do you like simon pegg's other stuff?
spaced for example?
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:35, Reply)
some things it will work with
I imagine the new bond books are ok, but Adam's writing was very distinctive and a bit odd, and without that I'm not sure it will work.

I'll give it a go though, and I am prepared for it to be good.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:31, Reply)
I haven't got around to reading any of the new Bond books,
Mostly because I wasn't a massive fan of the old ones.

We'll see, anyway, I guess.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:33, Reply)
I was wary about the film
but it was better than I expected. The same goes for the new Star Trek film. When I heard that was coming out I thought they were milking the franchise a bit, but by christ it was a cracking film.

But this new book? Hmmm, I'll reserve judgement.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:39, Reply)
I thought Star Trek was excellent
and I'm looking forward to the sequals.

I agree on Star Trek film,
I really enjoyed that, it was a good, solidly entertaining lump-O-sci-fi.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:42, Reply)
I share the above opinions

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:46, Reply)
Good

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:48, Reply)
you are a giant arse
that made me grin though
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:51, Reply)
It was fun

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:55, Reply)
Hmm that begs the question
Does anyone read the front page? Because I certainly don't!!
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:25, Reply)
I always start at the frontpage,
because once I've opened a browser, it's easy to tap in "b3ta" and hit CTRL+Enter. I don't bother with a shortcut to any particular section.

I have a laugh at the "best of the board", then popular image challenge entries. Then read a few of the latest QOTW entries. Then Top Tips and finally come here.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:38, Reply)
Not really.
I imagine he was expecting a more structured interview, or at least some vetted questions, rather than the barely literate tripefest that was handed to him.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:39, Reply)
I thought it was a good interview.
B3ta's not fucking Newsnight.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:45, Reply)
I thought he sounded like a dick though

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:47, Reply)
yeah, well, David Bowie.

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:49, Reply)

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:50, Reply)
I'd touché David Bowie
especially in Labyrinth.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:54, Reply)
I think the questions were really shit
I don't think he did badly, most of them didn't warrant any sort of response.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:49, Reply)
the questions were even more shit than usual
this is true
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:50, Reply)
He treat it like one
Instead of getting into the spirit of it.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:51, Reply)
Would an interviewee on Newsnight really say
"That's a step too far, shitehead."?
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 12:54, Reply)
If they actually DID,
Maybe I'd watch it.
