Last time I had anything indianfoodrelated
I made dahl.

It was lovely. Until I threw it all up again 3 hours later.

I don't like being sick :(

it is not
butter chicken, pilau rice, and aloo parantha (or whatever its spelt) - much better than yours. though to be honest, i would have your meal as well, without that most foul of creature - the mushroom
(, Wed 4 Nov 2009, 19:50, Reply)
you are wrong
Aloo chat for starters

Achari chicken, curried chickpeas (chana masala?) plain naan and pilau rice for main
(, Wed 4 Nov 2009, 19:51, Reply)

Loads of poppadoms with various chutneys.
Prawn biryani and plain nan.

Mango Kulfi.

I
bow to your choice - I love Indian food, but oddly, I can't stand rice.

"You're eating maggots Michael; look again."

...may have something to do with it.
(, Wed 4 Nov 2009, 20:39, Reply)
Best. Film. Ever.
And now I won't be able to eat rice. Gah.

The only good thing, and dont' get me wrong, it _is_ a good thing, about indian food is....
Papadoms and dips, lots of dips, like 8 or so different types.

And the king pranw butterfly.

I like the ambiquity of the Pashwarii Naan.
Is it a starter? is it a side to a mains? is it a desert? is it left overs for breakfast the next day?

NOBODY KNOWS !

Ooooooo, that's the first time i've used the word ambiquity, I do hope I used it right.
(, Wed 4 Nov 2009, 20:46, Reply)
used and spelt right (by spelt right I mean it has a g not a q)
you are ready to enter the world grasshopper.

you are right too. peshwari is awesome
(, Wed 4 Nov 2009, 20:53, Reply)
You speak
only in truths, my friend. Peshwari is the best naan. And if, by some miracle there's some left over after you've finished your curry, you can eat it for dessert too!

althegeordie will back me up here
Starters:
Lamb chops, masala fish, seekh kebabs and chicken tikka, accompanied by roti bread

Main;
Dry Meat (the most incredible dish of all time), accompanied by baby pumpkin and tarka dal

...all served up by the culinary genii at Tayyab's.

Vipros, come up to town and I will show you the food of Pakistan that will bring you to tears it's so fucking incredible. And nigh on impossible to spend much more than about 15 quid a head on.

At the end of my road is also a street with a choice of about a dozen Vietnamese places in the space of about 100 yards. The Viet Hoa cafe or the kitchen in the Vietnamese Cultural Centre (rudest staff ever, best food ever) on Englefield Rd are the best. Special mention goes to the stuffed squid - a revelation.

There are many reasons to think London is shite but cheap and authentic foreign food (I'm also just down the road from where the Turks do their thing) isn't one of them.
(, Thu 5 Nov 2009, 8:43, Reply)
I've had some incredible turkish food in London
at a restaurant in Brockley I think.

easily as good as the turkish food I had in turkey.
