Hello peoples... *Waves*

Just a quick one hopefully.

I'm always hearing people saying that you can put chip pan oil/veg oil in diesel cars and it'll run OK, has anyone actually done this?

Seems a shit load cheaper if it does work.

It can be done
but has to be a specific mix, I think. You can't just fill an empty tank with the stuff, as far as I know.

yes you can
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetable_oil_used_as_fuel

it's taxable though

Taxable?
Oh, bummer.. assuming they find out that is.

A guy I work with set up a company getting the oil from chip chops and converting it to fuel.
Everything was going well, creaming off the milk from all sides, until I think something blew up or something like that.

Hmmmmm...
It's a SAAB 93 2.2 TID with 125000 miles on it, maybe it's a bit too much for it to handle.
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 18:36, Reply)
Depends on what type of fuel pump you have.
Also, veg oil ain't so good when it gets cold - a mix of veg oil and diesel is better in winter.
