Someone mentioend a griddle pan on here a few days ago.
And it's subtally been eating at my unconscious thoughts until I have the sudden urge to get, to the point where I'm going to crack tomorow and get one.

Oh man, I can't wait to griddle some asparagous and salmon, with some boiled new potatos, and a nice sweet chilli sauce.

I'd have some of that tonight, but that bitch clendrix is forcing me to have thai later.

I've always thought my life was fine without one
But I've been thinking about getting one since this week. My creamy peppercorn sauce was the shiznit by the way. Ooh that Clendrix, what a bitch. Clendrix, you're a terrible bitch...
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:00, Reply)
I think, in the long run, we lead empty lives without one.
I do like a bit of creamy peppercorn sauce on a medium-rare fillet steak with a side of pom-frits.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:03, Reply)
I'm gonna do that next time
This time it was with chicken and mushroom and pasta

Oh man, my life became completely fulfilled the day I got my griddle pan.
All I need now is a dodgy Christmas jumper!
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:31, Reply)
With a big, bobbly snowman on it?

(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:37, Reply)
No, I'd prefer Reindeer.
The internet is, strangely, drawing a blank.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:48, Reply)
Even screengrabs from the craptacular Bridget Jones's Diary?
I'm sure I remember him getting some kind of hideous reindeer sweater in that.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:54, Reply)
When I say I'm drawing a blank...
I mean that I can't find what I want to *buy*. :(
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:56, Reply)
Aw, bugger.
Not even on ebay?
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:59, Reply)
Haha, there's a few there!

Probably knitted by old grannies

Top quality jumpers
and it's a rather seasonal trade, I'm guessing. Do you want them to starve in June?
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:16, Reply)
Are you on commission or what?
I reckon you're sitting at a knitting machine right now spewing them out!
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:21, Reply)
Not on a Sunday

Hah, you know where it says "comany.co.uk"....
I thought that was where someone has used a pre-made template and hasn't bothered to change it.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 20:29, Reply)
My aunty knitted me a sweater
that made a complete winter scene when you put your arms by your sides. And matching leg warmers. Alright Mal!
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:47, Reply)
Now THAT is the sort of ingenuity that I am seeking right now!
PS Yo, Roots. How's it hangin'? *high fives*
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:49, Reply)
Hi five bro!
It's hanging well and healthy ta! Gotta go to work at 8 tho :-( How's yourself?
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:52, Reply)
Hurrah!
But boo that you have to go to work! Me? Covered in paint having painted the lounge for next week's festivities, but on the whole I'm just fine and dandy! :)
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:55, Reply)
Woo!
Not woo for you, but woo for the new abode...
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:01, Reply)
It *is* rather nice.
Some things are broken, but it's a good home. :)

I'm going to woo myself, because I think I deserve one. Woo!
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:04, Reply)
I've been here eight years
and some things are still broken, but it's my little palace and I wouldn't change it. Much...
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:06, Reply)
That's the thing, innit.
If it's a place that is your own (even if you are just renting it, like I am), then it makes life so much more comfy. And there was a farmers market outside today. Duck eggs FTW! :)
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:10, Reply)
I'm renting but it definitely feels like home
Some places do and some places don't.
You know it when you find it dontcha.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:20, Reply)
This is why I tell my colleagues who tell me I "need to move" as my place has "bad memories"
to get to fuck. My flat is fucking awesome.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:22, Reply)
I think a load of soldiers must've died here
because the family allowed it to be used as a nursing home for injured soldiers during the First World War.
I couldn't give a shit because it has a lovely vibe, maaaan.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:24, Reply)
Like, totally meditating right now!

I'm channelling peace and luv
like my uncle Ringo
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:28, Reply)
That would give me Teh Fear, I think.
My colleagues are the horrible, chick-flick-watching type who don't believe you can be friends with former boyfriends and insist I cut all ties with him and my past by moving. And try to set me up with people who are not in any way sexually appealing to me and old enough to be my father.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:29, Reply)
Pah, I had an ex here for three years.
And they were horrid turbulent times.
Then my best mate lived here for 6 months.
For a while after, I left the spare room as a junkyard and didn't go in there as it had their 'mark' on it, but after 5 years of slow reclaiming it is now a bit of the house that I use and sleep in and love.

I occasionally find the odd photo or bank statement but it changes nowt.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:35, Reply)
Thing is, we still get on really well - the split was amicable and he lived here for 8 months or so after we broke up.
My colleagues think splitting up with me makes him THE DEVIL (especially as I had to buy a bed - because sleeping in the same bed would not in any way be weird, right?) and every time they are reminded of his existence ask me why I don't cut him out of my life. Bah.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:41, Reply)
I fucking love duck eggs.
You get propper yolks in those bad boys.

(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 20:30, Reply)
Alright Roots
Am jumping between PC and lappy at the moment since I have just acquired Windows 7. The plan is to make it my Internets Machine™ and keep it by the bed.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 18:56, Reply)
I now have a netbook with windows 7.
This is a vast improvement on all my evening/weekend internetting previously being done on my mobile phone.
Woo. And yes, you can take them to bed but don't fall asleep and drop it.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:00, Reply)
This one's three years old nearly, it's 3 times the size of your average netbook.
But it sits quite comfortably on your lap and does the job - it was my main computer for two years till it started to die. Clean install and it's all good - simples!
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:21, Reply)
Ace!
I wouldn't have minded a laptop but this was cheaper.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:26, Reply)
This one cost me about the same as my desktop did 3 years ago.
I'd forgotten the keyboard is somewhat temperamental and Windows is bitching that my graphics card is out of date but it's still good enough just for internets.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 19:35, Reply)
Netbook with Win7?
I'm turned on a little bit, you know how to do your technology bits.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 20:34, Reply)
You know what DiT? I've always known you were a lucky man, but I never quite knew how far it reached.
I say 'luck', but that's actually insulting, it's brought on my hard work and determination, and not luck.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 20:27, Reply)
I'm off to work

What Thai noms did you have?

(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 20:48, Reply)
We split a vegtable tempora and duck spring rolls, and I had coconut rice with sweet'n'sour prawns.
It was great, but I felt a bit nausous and ended up taking half of it home.
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 20:56, Reply)
Mmmm... coconut rice is my absolute favourite.
Not had proper Thai for years, don't think there is one in Trashford...
(, Sun 6 Dec 2009, 21:01, Reply)
There's a Thai place just down the road from me
The owner used to be an engineer, worked with my dad for over 10 years. We get pretty good service there.

Pity I don't much care for Thai.
