Hmmmm.....
I saw a recipy the other day for wassabi calamari, that I could give a go.

I think SF is having some girl around tonight, so I might cock-block him with my cooking.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:09, Reply)
then definitely something super stinky
not seafood, cause all hoes wanna eat free seafood
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:11, Reply)
Maybe something coconutty, like Thai Curry.
Is 'red' or 'green' the hot one? I don't like the hot one.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:13, Reply)
if you're trying to cock block then make the hot one

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:17, Reply)
I donno, I can't really do 'hot' myself.
They'res nothing less sexy than a guy with chrones who's just ate something hot and needs to run off every 30 minutes.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:39, Reply)
Seconded.
I love seafood.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:09, Reply)
I love the fact you have safety instructions with your recipe : )

He's had his fingers burned (ahem) by forgetting the disclaimer in the past

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:07, Reply)
Ha, thanks =)
I'd rather put that down than let someone prove Darwin right.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:10, Reply)
Does it have to imvolve your new favourite kitchen item?

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:06, Reply)
This time I didn't, because I was at my ma's, who doesn't have one (she will do come christmas day though :p)

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:10, Reply)
Chicken wings,
they're cheap as chips.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:07, Reply)
yeah but for a tiny bit more...
you can get breast fillets with no messing and no fat or bones.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:08, Reply)
chicken breast isn't as tasty as thigh, wing or leg
you can buy thigh fillets really cheap
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:09, Reply)
Breast is my favourite.
It's a nice tender expanse of chicken.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:13, Reply)
I like thighs AND breast

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:10, Reply)
Greedy boy!

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:11, Reply)
I miss chicken : (
But I couldn't go back to eating it after all this time.

I have principles.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:11, Reply)
pretty specious principles though.

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:11, Reply)
Pfft!
It's my principle and I think it's worthy enough.

I also have morals too.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:16, Reply)
nope, you can get about 18 wings for about £2
coat them in herbs and spices, roast them and serve with dips and potato wedges. They're awesome
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:11, Reply)
I hate things I have to touch
Like ribs and wings.
I like things I can easily knife-and-fork.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:15, Reply)
ribs are the fucking business though

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:17, Reply)
Seriously fucking LOVE ribs.

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:18, Reply)
get some, marinate them in Ainsley's smokey bbq sauce
cook in oven on low heat for 4 hours, then griddle the hell out of them.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:21, Reply)
You know what? I'm going to order some from Amazing-o-butchers in Cockfosters.

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:26, Reply)
I love the taste
It's just that eating them feels a bit awkward, messy, and uncivilised.
There, I've said it.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:19, Reply)
That's one of the bits I like about ribs.
There is something quite cute about a prim and proper girl with BBQ sauce on her cheeks and nose, eating like a cave(wo)man.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:21, Reply)
I never do it in public.

(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:23, Reply)
I think it depends on the company you're with.
Sometimes it's a real laugh being all messy like that, just make sure you've left your Gucci evening-down (evening down? I mean, like a really smart dress) at home, and are wearing an over-sized hoodie from someone cute.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:26, Reply)
you can knife and fork both of those
roo-roo-roosta
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:20, Reply)
And I would, but it's still fiddly.
I feel there's waste. But a big breast fillet, all gone!
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:22, Reply)
I'm not entirely sure I fancy that.
I have a lovely chicken-cujion coating stuff that I brought back from cyprus, but it wouldn't be worth blogging because nobody could get the coating.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:11, Reply)
lamb souvlaki
marinate chunks of lamb in olive oil, lemon juice, dill, garlic and seasoning

thread onto skewers and griddle

serve with griddled red peppers, aubergine, any of that stuff.
tzatziki and griddled flatbread
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:09, Reply)
0o0o0o0o0o0o0oh, that's not a bad idea.
Or I might try Chicken Teryakki, which is similar.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:12, Reply)
you can do this with chicken too
it's currently my favourite meal
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:16, Reply)
I think I would do chicken, my insides can't always take things like lamb. Once in a while is fine, but I've already had a red-meat meal this week.
Do you do your own taziki and flatbread?
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:18, Reply)
I do my tzatziki because I don't like cucumber
so get greek yoghurt, add lemon juice and zest, dill and garlic to taste

I have a really easy flatbread recipe, if you have a food mixer thing.
cup and half of white flour, pinch of salt, drizzle in tbsp of olive oil while whizzing in the food processor, then drizzle in half a cup of water.

roll really thin and griddle.

I think those are the right proportions. can't find the recipe online at the moment.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:20, Reply)
I need to get my hands on Food Processor, haven't got one.
I don't really do 'baking', like bread or cakes, except my Lemon Lucious Cake, which is awesome.

That all sounds simple enough, definatly doo'able, just not tonight though.
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 14:23, Reply)
get a magimix
none of the others are as good. they aren't cheap, but the motor in mine is something like 12 times as powerful as most, and is direct drive, rather than a belt. has a lifetime guarantee on the motor.

I don't do baking either, but flatbread is fucking awesome, and you can't really buy any decent stuff in the supermarkets near me.

my mrs bakes. the lemon drizzle cake recipe she uses is the best cake I've ever had.
