Is everyone surviving the terrible winter weather in Europe I keeep reading about?
It was -20C here on the way to work this morning but we are used to it so it's no big deal.

Just about,
but I'm going to struggle to get home today, I can feel it.

It's definitely not the time to be a homeless Polish person, that's for sure. But then, when is?

The hill I park on to get to the main road was like an ice rink this morning.
I didn't have to drive down as the car managed to slide down all on it's own. How I managed to stay in control of the car is beyond me.

Scariest 5 minutes of my life.

scary drives
oh dear - last week I slithered backwards 150m down a big hill out of control, crying and wanting my mum, whom I have to point out would have been completely useless!V V Scary indeed.

And I'm not proud of the fact that when my friends managed to dig me out of the hole the next day I was too scared to drive it home. feckin' big wimp that I am....

so much for being an independant woman....

Give it a rest Monty.
Some of us spell things incorrectly. Live with it.

By being corrected, one learns how not to make the same mistake again
For years I have erroneously been saying I felt 'nauseous' when, as was kindly pointed out to me on here, what I meant was 'nauseated'.

I shall now use the correct term, and I'm genuinely grateful to whoever it was who corrected me.

Still no sign of the drama queens...
...easing up here. 5cm of snow and they are bulk buying bread.
(, Wed 13 Jan 2010, 13:22, Reply)
Have people been buying enough food to survive a 10 year famine because of the snow?
Panic is fun!
(, Wed 13 Jan 2010, 13:25, Reply)
i laughed at all the panic buyers
and now I have no bread and live on an ice covered road, some distance from bread sellers

I could be up to 2 days WITHOUT TOAST!

I am considering looting and setting cars on fire.

(, Wed 13 Jan 2010, 13:37, Reply)
you must really like
toast
(, Wed 13 Jan 2010, 13:39, Reply)
It's a good way to melt the ice on the roads.

(, Wed 13 Jan 2010, 14:00, Reply)
Fire starting?
Or toast?
(, Wed 13 Jan 2010, 14:51, Reply)
Toast
The burnt crumbs are black and adsorb the sun's light therby heating up and melting the ice.

Everyone knows fire doesn't do anything.
(, Wed 13 Jan 2010, 15:02, Reply)
speaking of toast
has anyone got any tongs as I have got my tiger bread stuck and my soup just went ding - well not the soup itself, the microwave but wanted to make that clear before Monty corrects me again.......
