Alright Becky?
I finished my report for Wednesday, so celebrated with cider and cookies. Good stuff.

What sort of cookies?

(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:31, Reply)
Maryland chocolate chip
Cheap and awesomes. Onto the second pack of the day.
(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:32, Reply)
Good choice
though bonus points would have been awarded for the double choc version.
(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:33, Reply)
They only had choc chip or those hazelnut abominations
And why would I choose those? I'm not some kind of idiot.
(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:34, Reply)
This is good reasoning
you can have one bonus point

Hoorah!
Do I get more if I show self-restraint and leave some for tomorrow? Or would more points be received for just buying more tomorrow? I'm such a points whore.
(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:37, Reply)
Buying more would be the sensible move

(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:39, Reply)
That shall be my returning-from-the-printers task for tomorrow then
Buying lots of cookies.
(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:41, Reply)
i finished my pack earlier today
there were only 2 left and such a big cup of tea :(

Alright PoD
You need to make these

12 tablespoons (175g) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup (160g) firmly packed light brown sugar
2/3 cup (130g) white sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups (170g) rolled oats
1 1/4 cup (160g) plain flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups (200g) raisins

Preheat oven to 375F/190C/Gas Mark 5.

Cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract; beat until well combined.

In a separate bowl combine oats, flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Mix into butter mixture until just combined. Stir in raisins.

Drop the dough by heaped tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving a 2" gap between each mound. [I used a dessert-spoon and made ovals rather than balls (quenelles, if we're being posh) as I heard that this caused the dough to spread less.]

Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Cool on sheet for at least a minute before transferring to a rack.

Firstly, this seems like far more effort than just going and buying some
It also seems possibly more expensive.

I do plan on using the 2kg of oats in the cupboard to make huge amounts of flapjack though.
(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:38, Reply)
flapjack eh?
remember to share
(, Sun 24 Jan 2010, 21:39, Reply)
I'm considering make them in a roasting tin
2 inch thick flapjack would make me :) rather than :(
