Quick question
I donated some money to B3ta a few weeks ago (if you haven't done this recently, you should) and I haven't got any new icons. I did it by direct bank transfer rather than paypal.

I don't want to kick up a fuss, but should I gaz Rob and ask him about my icons?

This weekend I received a big pile of new DVDs, almost all of which starred Denzel Washington. So answer me this b3ta, the work of which actor have you recently discovered your DVD collection is criminally lacking in and what have you done about it?
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:03, 49 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
I only own 3 DVDs
TSA snowboarding
Aladdin
Sound of Music sing a long edition

Therefore the answer is all actors ever

I think that you're just going to have to wait until a new batch of icons are released
Rob once explained the process to me, but I have forgotten the details
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:10, Reply)
I know they come in stages
but I hadn't donated previously for about a year.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:11, Reply)
You have to wait for cr3 to stencil them on a piece of paper
and cut them out, then you'll receive them in the post to pritt-stick to your screen.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:14, Reply)
They're fackin muggin you off mate!!
You wanna get round there and tell 'em what's what innit.

Jason Statham
Well, not really. I've had him forced upon me (oo-er) after my flatmate decided he was going to collect every film in which Statham had ever starred*. Methinks someone has a bit of a boy crush.

*Well, "been filmed," at least...
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:15, Reply)
In his defence
The Transporter is rather funny, Crank is hilarious and I've run out of films of his that are actually worth watching.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:17, Reply)
For the prosecution
It did mean he had to buy Steve Martin's remake of The Pink Panther, because Statham is in it for about the first ten minutes. And the film goes downhill from there...
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:19, Reply)
I'd donate again
to get a new icon. The duck is the best of a bad bunch as far as the last lot go.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:18, Reply)
There haven't been any new icons for ages
which is why I'm withholding my donations. As soon as new icons're released, I shall kill donate again.

I've you've just donated a second time for the same batch of icons, you're a mug. A generous mug, but a mug all the same.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:22, Reply)
I assumed that icons were released more regularly that once a year

(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:23, Reply)
There is neither rhyme nor reason nor rhythm to their release.

(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:56, Reply)
Could it be because your 5p donation only buys 2 pixels?

(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:40, Reply)
I donated (for the first time, on that day you shamed me into it)
and wasn't even offered some fucking old icons. I don't actually care, but still. Mods have been gazzed over lesser transgressions.

And, in answer to your other q, David Rappaport. If you don't know him, you fucking should.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:41, Reply)
the mods should be gazzed!
you need the ghost icon to let others know that you like having the willies put up you
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:49, Reply)
You cheeky blighter.

(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 10:55, Reply)
Rutger Hauer
I have done nothing
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:02, Reply)
Blade Runner and The Hitcher
then I've got nothing.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:02, Reply)
I saw a bit of Ladyhawke last night
a film both dreadful and awesome

also, Blind Fury is fantastic. He plays a soldier blinded by a flash grenade in Nam, or Korea or something, and gets trained to fight with a sword, despite being blind.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:04, Reply)
that's a remake of a brilliant Japanese film.
I love Hauer, but Zatoichi is infinitely superior.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:08, Reply)
which one?
ladyhawke or blind fury?
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:09, Reply)
Blind Fury.
Ladyhawke is a remake of a turd I once did.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:10, Reply)
haha
have you watched that video yet?

we had a crowd literally screaming for more the other night. But the neighbours had complained, so we had to stop.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:17, Reply)
I searched for you lot on YouTube
but the clips were from 2008 I think - still good though. But there was also a dude in a bear suit so maybe that was the intended clip.

Or you are regularly followed around by a helmet in a bear suit?

If I'm totally honest, I wasn't overly enamoured of your vocalist's delivery and in the clip I saw he was way too loud in the mix and you were too low. I'm nitpicking though really, if I went to see a local band and got you lot I'd be well pleased.

EDIT are you sure it wasn't that the cloakroom was on fire and they were screaming because the flesh was being burnt from their backs?
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:26, Reply)
the bear one was the one
one of them anyway

we aren't usually followed around by that guy fortunately.

the vocals were a bit rough because it was at the end of the set, but to be honest they usually are a bit anyway, he's never had any training or anything and tends to belt it out and over extend himself somewhat.

edit: fairly sure, as the place doesn't have a cloakroom, and we had a commanding view of what was going on
There's never quite enough of my guitar for my liking! From what we hear, the sound guy is about the best guy locally, albeit a bit of a dick, but he doesn't really like blues and stuff...
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:31, Reply)
As high in the mix as he was
he could have calmed down a bit and would have sounded a lot better for it. But hey, end of the show, fair enough....
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:37, Reply)
he doesn't seem to be able to correlate those things
the likelihood is that he was low in his monitor and upped his volume to compensate. It's not often we play somewhere with a decent setup and sound guy, so the experience isn't there.

we were remarking yesterday that he was been doing just what you say more recently, so maybe we need to tactfully point out to him that he has a microphone, so doesn't need to shout
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:41, Reply)
Blues hollering is fair enough
but perhaps a quiet word might improve your listeners' experience.

Or up his monitor and have the vocal channel lowered on the desk, and just don't tell him...
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:48, Reply)
it's weird
some of his vocal performances over the last week have been his best ever, and some have been totally shouted.

he's a loose cannon.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:54, Reply)
This is getting intriguing

Ta. Going well there - should have booted that Bear, mind.
Saw a couple of the others. Like the harp too.
I'd be happy if you played any pub I was in.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 12:15, Reply)
yeah, the bear guy was random
in one of the other videos not yet uploaded he does get kicked across the floor

thanks though :-)

My mum's mate can't ever say his name
She calls him Oogie Kruger.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:16, Reply)
that's slightly odd

(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:18, Reply)
So is she
She makes hard boiled eggs and mashes butter into them and tries to pretend they're soft boiled eggs.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:19, Reply)
Does she put them in a cup?
I've heard eggy cup is a wonderful panacea when you're feeling ill. But only if your mum makes it for you.

My mum never made it for me.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:21, Reply)
your mum made it with me
and by made it, I mean made love

and by made love I mean I slapped her about a bit and jizzed in her eye
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:26, Reply)
No, just in the shell. As if we're stupid.
But my mum always made me egg and buttered bread mashed up in a cup.
It's called guggy egg and it makes you better.
The last time she made me guggy egg was when I was 26 and something really bad had happened. She couldn't tempt me with any food, and then she came out with a mug of guggy egg.
It made me better.

Daniel Day-Lewis
Not that my catalogue is lacking, as I have Gangs of New York, Last of the Mohicans (AMAZING) and There Will Be Blood, but still he needs a mention in an actors thread. I have a full blown man-crush.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:07, Reply)
You'll be cracking one off over My Left Foot then,
you sick cunt.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:09, Reply)
I love cracking one off over your left foot
your right foot just isn't as sexy
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:13, Reply)
That'll be the corns and veruccas, and the ingrowing toenail and athlete's foot.
(on my left one, obv.)
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:14, Reply)
That's what makes it so endearing
I'll be wishing to add that to my collection though.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 11:46, Reply)
I hope inside man was in that pile and fallen as well
Both damn fine denzel films

They've had an image challenge going for new icons for ages so hopefully we should get some soon.

Also your mum.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 12:29, Reply)
Afternoon!

(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 12:30, Reply)
Hellooooooooo
I already owned Inside Man and Fallen. But I didn't own Deja Vu, Crimson Tide, Training Day or Man on Fire.
(, Mon 1 Mar 2010, 12:34, Reply)
Man On Fire
what an awesomely great fucking movie.

Also - John Q is great as well - that should be in your Denzel Disk Delivery
