The Cure would be GENIUS if it weren't for Robert Smith...
(Same as The Smiths without Morrissey ;-) )

Morrissey played near me
He demands when he plays gigs that there is no meat on the premises. There was a market stall nearby selling meat and he bought the lot for £200 and donated it to a hostel. Firstly the amount of meat which was enough sausages to fill two bin-bags, lamb, venison, steak and chops, as well as 40 packs of bacon and 30 packets of sliced ham is worth way more than £200 (the butcher afterwards said he should have asked for more but was shocked). Secondly the fucking hypocrisy of saying don't eat meat its murder and then buying some and giving it to other people to eat. Thirdly what a cunt! Fuck water bottles people should throw sausages at him!

'A Forest' is an excellent tune'
'Killing an Arab' is alright.
But they have made hundreds of totally shit records - by far the worse is 'Lovecats' which is a truly terrible, self-consciously 'kooky' mountain of gaiety that reminds me of stupid 'alternative' girls from the 80s that smelled of TCP.
Robert Smith was at his best when he was in Siouxsie & The Banshees for a bit: their live 'Nocturne' LP is absolutely brilliant. In the accompanying DVD you can see a young Martin Degville at the start, who ended up in Sigue Sigue Sputnik with Tony James from Generation X.

I love the bass on Lovecats
Their darker stuff is generally better though, Disintegration is a splendid album
and their song Burn from the Crow soundtrack is sublime

Fucking love it. The full orchestra backing her is brilliant.

They _are_ shit though, they don't have a single good song. They're like a poor man's Andrew Lloyd Webber.
They're only used for cliches in telivision shows.
All glam-emo-80s-thinggy is shit, nothing is good about it, they're all just trying to please their parents and failing baddly.

I bet you hear music about aliens and space, like that song by The Mama's and Pappas
And it makes you think "Oh cool, SPACE ! Oh man, lost in space, that was amazing. Man, I bet _they_ were on drugs ! hahah ! Drugs and space and all that !"

If anyone made that music today, it wouldn't get pass to pub scene.
They're on par with
- Standard cheddar cheese
- Fruit Cake
- Buiscets (such as Rich Tea or Digestives) without anything to acompliment them, not even tea.
- Leaks
- Instertution food
- Garry Rhodes

I love the song "Song 2", that's a bit good, and everyone knows I'm rather partial to a bit of Wonderwall at the local accustic live session....
... but you can't base a career around one song, unless you're Bono.

For all Bono's faults,
and there are many, I wouldn't finger any one particular song.
He has an entire back catalogue of equally gash tunes.
