Although I can't see what's remotely divisive about the below statement, when I posted it as my Facebook status a while ago it created an absolute shitstorm. Which would at least keep me awake.
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS WERE FUCKING AWFUL
*braces*

Fails to get angry online. Different strokes innit. You can't help having appalling music taste.

I liked approximately one song of theirs.
I can tolerate them but I just didn't see what the big deal is
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 18:39, Reply)
Got all their albums, even the Pisces Iscarot Bsides thing and the Machina 2 one that you can't get an origonal of, only copies. But yeah - if you don't like em you don't like em I guess.

Ego or no, surely there comes a point when it's only decent to go up to him and say "look mate, I know you write the songs and the lyrics and it's your band, but you CANNOT sing. At all. Hire someone who can!"

there are loads of shit singers that people love

not only do you have a gay face and hair like a spastic lionfish but you're a pedo too?

And I'm not actually following him but I know plenty of people who are, tragically. Thank you for not contradicting the "would" comment, by the way :-)

now, can we talk about owl city?
why why why why why?! I'd do better on tv singing than that shitcunt
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 19:24, Reply)
...which I quite liked
*flees*
Are they from over your way?
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 19:28, Reply)
After your post I'd better never see any shitcunt say anything about me and Miley
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 19:35, Reply)
In the same way I like Bob Dylans. Technicaly no, Corgan cannot sing for shit, but for some reason, in his songs it works. And I like it.
But yeah, getting back to your origonal post - I once posted on facebook that I prefered some Hole songs to Nirvana - and nearly got internet lynched.
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 18:53, Reply)
That was practically heresy even before Nirvana were deified
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 18:54, Reply)
Some Nirvana tracks are, lets face it, a bit weak compared to Jennifer's Body, Or Miss World, or whatever. Courtney love was fucking awesome before she went downhill.

although pretty disappointing the one time I saw them live at glasto

Billy Corgan's voice irritates the hell out of me, and I have yet to hear a song that had any appeal. They're of limited talent at best. The most overrated band since U2.

The fellow looked like a twat and their records did nothing to persuade me otherwise. If they hadn't been releasing records at such a barren time in the history of rock music no-one would even have heard of them I reckon.
Plus, 'Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness' is one of the shittest student bed-wetting LP names ever. Boo fucking hoo.
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 20:04, Reply)
name a shitter student bed-wetting LP name.
EDIT: actually I can, 'Meat is Murder'
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 20:11, Reply)
but it did allow my friend the most awesome pun when he walked into the kitchen to see a goth, a dog (well, someone who'd character in LARP is a dog) and a watermelon
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 20:14, Reply)
I suppose 'someone whose character in LARP is a dog' is indeed the defintion of 'infinite sadness'...
I am being mean now, I apologise.
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 20:19, Reply)
is a dragonkin worse?
Oh, wait, I was a wolf once, too
(, Thu 1 Apr 2010, 20:28, Reply)
that now you are effectively speaking in a foreign language to me. A 'dragonkin'? The mind truly boggles. I had no idea 'LARPing' even existed until recently.
I am currently listening to 'High Rise II' by Japanese rockers High Rise. Now THOSE fellows knew how to do it. Fucking awesome.

I had wings and pointy ears and was spray painted gold

but you're a big gayer.
The smashing pumpkins were and are brilliant. MACHINA: The Machines of God, is my favourite album of all time. Yes, it's my favourite ever. They are immense beyond belief.
