I'm flying out on wed morning, coming from someone who doesn't read the news, do you reckon it'll clear up by then?

It all depends on a) how long mother nature wants to stop holidays for and b) if the wind is in the right direction, I suppose...

As long as the volcano stops spewing ash within the next couple of days.
And as long as the ash is dispersed at cruising altitude. There's a good chance airspace will re-open by then.
