Are you a QOTWer? Do you want to start a thread that isn't a direct answer to the current QOTW? Then this place, gentle poster, is your friend.

re: That was properly uncalled for.
I'm working right now, but I'll pop a bit of time into it later and reply in depth.
Look, your stuff isn't to my taste. It doesn't mean you're dreadful, or you're a wanker. Simply I don't like it. But as it's not spelt badly, the grammars ok, all that, I don't criticise. taste is, after all, subjective.
Look, I'm fed up of people slagging well written stuff. It doesn't help!

But still, out of context? Can you give any more constructive feedback, or is your whole line of thinking that it is 'just shit'? Because that seems to be exactly the kind of thing you are complaining about when other people do it.

Not surreal, just shit...
It's very hard to write well, and surreally, and you don't pull it off. Sorry.

What words out of context? My contribution to this week's QOTW is just a surreal story. Nothing more.

As do I.
Your posts are nonsense - words out of context etc. Absolutely fucking terrible. However, I simply don't vote for you (incidentally, I'm a regular on best of, with most of my (80%) true stories, with the odd made up fib). I don't want to give you grief, or anything like that, generally, but you've tipped me over the edge!
Mate, the flaming is driving people away. Not you, per se, but in general.
Criticism is good - slating grammar, spelling, just plain thickness, all that, but "no and no" adds nothing.
You're a sympton of a larger cancer.
I reserve the right to call you a fool,

I contribute when I think I have something to add. I hate people that give shit answers or spam the boards with doggerel.
You think I'm driving people away? How am I doing that? The post that kicked this off, all I said in my reply was that it wasn't the only story and that it wasn't very good. One of those statements is stone cold, unequivocal fact and the other is what some people may call debatable (though with a degree in literature it is actually possible to unequivocally state the worth of a piece of writing).
If you want a happy playground where the only feedback is positive then more power to you. I reserve the right to call out replies that I think are shit.

Look, I'm sorry if Ihurt your feelings, but you're symptomatic of too many on qotw. Maybe I hit on you unfairly. if so, actually, I am a little bit apologetic. But not very.
Too many people are slating regular posters. A few people off /talk are slating regulars, the qotw is losing good people and people like you who don't contribute or post anything good themselves (or regularly, as good is subjective, mainly) are joining in. It's driving people away.
Stop it!
Play nice!

That was properly uncalled for.
I call a bad story a bad story. You then say that you wished it was me on the receiving end of some particularly nasty physical and mental abuse.
There's a difference between flaming and expressing a commonly held opinion. You clearly don't seem to think so.

Remember kids, regardless of who's right or wrong, arguing with an idiot on the internet makes you an idiot too. The reply button is like your mum's gaping hole: just because it's there doesn't mean you have to hit it.

Grow up son.
And publishing private correspondence is bad form.
Son, maybe I went over the top, a little, in expressing my frustration at the negativity on here. I explained to you, reasonably, the reasons behind it in a lengthy correspondence.
I don't expect it to be published. I further don't think it shows you in a good light. Publishing private correspondence is tremendously bad mannered. You deserve a slap, but as it's the internet you're safe.
This sort of desperation for approval is embarrassing.
Really, stop seeking internet validation. Get over your terrible childhood (we all have our demons - I'm a more or less reformed drug addict and criminal) and focus on getting something more into your life.
Oh, and I'm surprised to hear you're arranging your Dad's funeral if he was "only responsible for half your genetic make-up" I'm less surprised however that he cut you out of his will, knowing your attitude. Personally, if my Dad had been like that I'd have let the crows have him, and I'd have robbed his house.
Now, to use a horrible abbreviation.... MTFU!

Criticism is an integral part of this board. It's not driving people away, sometimes it's a bit harsh and often all the more amusing for it. When it comes to criticising criticism, that's when people start to look stupid. You're right though, publishing PMs is terrible form. Especially when you post them in reverse order, the cock.
(, Fri 23 Apr 2010, 8:34, Reply)
And we need criticism, we do (as I said in the above gazzes).
I'm critical of posts that are badly written/semi-literate, but never on the question of taste.
To be honest, I posted initially through frustration at negativity - nothing constuctive offered and it's happening too much. People are reluctant to post and are being driven away. Plumdozer was just the final straw.
I tried to be reasonable when I gazzed with him - I'm not really a cunt, and wish I hadn't bothered - it's silly to argue, and really I was trying to explain my point to him.
Not to worry.
Cheers.
