Don't think any of you will remember my post about me telling my friend of 5 years I'm in live with her. But yes, that's kind of it, I've been in love with her for a long time.
Turns out she's got similar feelings for me too. We can't be together though, not yet. In 8 weeks, she moves to Singapore for 8 months. I've just found out this weekend I'm getting £1,000 through my Great Aunt's will.
B3tans, I ask this. Do I use that money to clear all my debts, and be left with £400-ish. Or do I put it towards going to Singapore at Christmas, seeing her then?
Argh! What do I do?

that's more or less how I got together with the girl I'm marrying. although she didn't move country.
Hard as it may be, clear the debts. It'll stand you in better stead in the long run

Christ, you lucky/sensible bastard! Also congrats on the lady advancements!
I say go to Singapore, but then that kind of maverick thinking is why I have significantly more that 600 quid debts...

save up however much more you need before Christmas. Easy.

but it was the most fun ever.

I'm fighting to imagine that, instead, you were bouncing around with a gleeful grin, when some bully kid pushed you off and you hurt your knee.

Then work it out from there.

It shouldn't be too expensive. Pay your debts and then get the tickets. If you go to a good travel agency you can pay month by month whatever is left (they won't be much more than £500, I'd think) But go and visit her!

Because new loves tend to rack up new bills in the early days. So at least start from a viable position.

a flight to Singapore shouldn't cost you that much more than £400 anyway? Clear your debts first, save what's left and add to it over the next six months. Shouldn't be too hard, given you're saving for something you really want.
