I've never used a superhuge monitor so I just assumed bigger would be better. Somthing closer to 26" maybe?

depends on the size of your desk
and what you use it for. I would get a TV and a seperate 19-21 inch monitor

It's a lot for your eyes to take in
just uncomfortably big. I agree with getting seperate TV and 19-21 inch monitor. Probably cheaper and the monitor will do you for years and years.

You need a really long desk to get the mouse from one end of the screen to the other.

It's all about the pixels, the more the better. I'd rather have a slightly smaller screen with more pixels than a bigger screen with less.

That's for computer use.
When it comes to watching video, that above telly is 'fine', nothing great, but it'll do for it's price, although I'd check out eBuyer.com and Richer Sounds. But for reading things on, like websites, it's shit.
