Spent the last few days furnishing a house on my own. Lifting loads of heavy weights, plumbing in white-goods and assembling shitloads of flat-pack furniture.
Job almost done, building the last bed and I bend over to lift up a plank and riiiiiippppp.... Something goes in my lower back. I can stand OK but trying to bend is absolute agony.
So why is this? Why, after all the heavy lifting, the contortions I went through to get bolt A into Slot B, the holding weights while I got something to fit - why didn't something go ping then? Why wait until the very end and then break lifting a poxy plank?
There is no justice.

it's justice that you've finished all the hard-work. If you started off and ripped something that would be injustice. Thank the lord for he is our saviour.

I've put my back out about 4 times in my life. The worst time - off work for 2 months, in pain for another 6, was getting out of Toyota Celica. I coughed while I was halfway out and tore something. I walked like Quasimodo for the next few months.

while sawing up wood, standing up out of a chair was a nightmare, and ended up moving in such an awkward way as to not hurt my back when I got up I pulled a hamstring instead

and pop painkillers like sweets. I don't even know what caused it, the doctors don't know what caused it. So I understand your frustration.

Luckily controlled fairly well by meds now (though the liver destroying potential means I cant drink too much*), but before finding something that worked (and could be taken with warfarin) everything was painful.
I'm 20
Now *that*'s injustice
*In theory, I'm still a student after all, so this becomes "cant drink too much in the week before a blood test", though still well short of my previous limit
