How was your weekend?
Mine was superb, had a nice night out Friday with some friends, got very drunk for free, always a bonus.
Saturday was my friends leaving party (She's off to Singapore on Friday), and it went off without a hitch. We ended up drinking pretty much every shot the Baa Bar sells, always good. Ended up heading back to Congleton, where I met some old mates, decided to get an early night, as I had something to do the next day. Crawled into bed at 3:10am.
Sunday - My family and I were having a photoshoot done, as a birthday present for my Dad. Due to traffic, and the directions I had going insane, we got lost, and ended up being quite late. Was entertaining though, and although I know the photographer was trying to really get us into it, it was just too funny to take seriously. Was nice seeing the family though, we don't get together often.
How were your weekends?
Alt Q: What is your hangover cure? Mine is Marmite on toast, magnificent. Alternatively, BACON!

I picked up the wedding dress yesterday, and baby has started walking AND talking, which is nice/dangerous.
my cure for a hangover is not to drink in the first place. I'm currently dealing with a 9 month old hangover and wishing I always listened to my own advice.

... I know I did something, there was sushi and chinese envolved at some point, but I can't remember. I hope it was something Ace of Bases.
I like a pint glass, filled up with a can of Red Bull, then 50/50 orange and cranberry to top it off.
I got the docs later on today, and then I'm gonna do Srs Bzns and Get Coding, a website I've been working on for yonks is going live this week, and as a Secret Suprise, I'm making a Mobile Phone version of the site too =D

First, we got on a traffic jam, so that our 4:30h journey became almost 8h, good start. Second, the hotel wasn't as good as promised, by far. Do not stay at the Ramada Jarvis Glasgow City.
The wedding itself was great. I didn't know anyone, but Mark's friends are really nice people.
Then we went back to the hotel, tired and drun, but couldn't sleep because some stupid 18 years old had booked the 3 rooms in front of ours and kept meeting in the aisle for partying at the beginning and then for crying and shouting and fighting. We called reception more than 5 times, they'd go to their rooms and 10 min later, back to the aisle. We didn't sleep, we got very upset and I'm very tired today.
I hate stupid people who can't control what they drink. I hate stupid teenager girls who make a drama of everything. Noisy bitches.

The Holiday Inn (and the Express next door) in West Nile Street is good, as is the Park Inn across the road. And the Premier Inn in George St is also excellent for the money.
(, Mon 19 Jul 2010, 9:57, Reply)
But the Ramada had this offer that we thought was very good, but it wasn't really... I'm quite dissapointed.

went out clubbing on Saturday. Fell over and quite badly hurt my foot.
Alt Q: I don't get hangovers, but I've always found that any lingering bleariness is nicely cleared up by bacon and a cup of tea
Edit: on the plus side I posted my first joke on sickipedia, only to have it rejected dammit

When Ronnie Kray died, they threw him into the sea, and when Reggie died they dumped him in the same spot. Now Raoul Moat is dead and they've chucked him in the same place. That's right- he's sleeping with the vicious

make me so brutally ill that the only cure is not to drink so much in the first place. In my hard drinking northern youth, however, they were solved by a pint of vimto and cheese on toast (or takeaway pizza) before bed, and a mammoth bacon sarnie in the morning. With brown sauce, for any other kind of sauce is sacrilege.
And I had a lovely weekend, cheers. Saw some mates in one of my favourite cities and spent a lot of money. Hurrah!

though the best thing to come out of it probably happened in the early hours of this morning, when I had a decent discussion with an old friend.
I don't often get hangovers, but when I do... Eep.

Go see it.

Best film I've seen in the cinema in a long time.
(, Mon 19 Jul 2010, 10:02, Reply)
cinema was absolutely packed but I didn't hear anyone speaking/mumbling/talking on a cunting mobile. It kept everyones attention.
I would suggest that anybody who wants to see it should go ASAP before some arsehole spoils it all.

Twilight Eclipse (promised I'd take the lady)
Inception (fuggin' awesome)
The Lazarus Project (shit)

Hit him with a frying pan *spang-spang-spang-SPANG* until he agrees. Or just go anyway, take a friend or go alone. I have gone to the cinema on my own a few times and it's quite a liberating experience.

but not today, we've got to cook for friends, but I'm all for a pizza and cinema tonight, we can invite his friends too.

before too many people tell you about it or you see the trailers. I saw a trailer for it a couple of weeks ago that totally spoiled an awesome scene.

and changed channels, I don't want to see anything about it until I'm on the cinema. It looks really good film.

see Roota's thread from yesterday for details if you care, basically had great, great time with daughter on my own Sat night/Sun morning, then got pissed right up yesterday and feel rather rotten today as a result.
Hangover cure: massive fryup with sweet tea, bath and back to bed. None of these options have been available to me today, sadly.

She must have been invited out for the night and wanted a babysitter - she was dressed like a bad 1980s New York prostitute when she left. Kind of like one of the Mary Jane Girls...

I won't go into too many details, but it involves getting far too drunk on Friday, taking MASSIVE drugs on Friday, cracking my skull off something painful, being too ill to attend the woman's birthday celebrations on the Saturday and generally being a twat.

Trying to get together a set for next weekend; don't know if you're familiar with "Faith Healer" by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, but I can only imagine the sight of two brothers singing "Can I put my hands on you?" would have done it for you.

Would love to get loaded and go see it, I have a cache of Liberty Caps that I have been saving for a rainy day. Although the thought of being ejected into the streets of Glasgow, dribbling, doesn't appeal to me. They're fucked up enough without viewing them through the cleansing lens of Psilocybin

I wingmanned for Applebite, spectacularly (badly)
I fell down the stairs as soon as I entered the club
Witnessed an evil barmaid telling people Stroh (80% rum) tasted of strawberries
Apples got a salad naan, I had some cucumber before realising I didn't like dressing
Vommed a lot.
So yeah, quite a lot.

My daughter quite likes the odd game of solitaire on the laptop, so we played a few games, at about 10pm, until we won. I then decided that I simply had to win 'just once more'.
1am and I am wondering if anyone has ever smashed a computer by being consumed by solitaire enhanced rage. I eventually win a second game after playing 80 games on the fucking trot. I had a Saturday night to rival the very best that the 21st Century has to offer. I hope next weekend isn't as hectic :-/

and does it allow you to turn the cards again when the deck is finished?
(, Mon 19 Jul 2010, 10:36, Reply)
And yes, you can turn the pack until it tells you that you are a useless cunt, or you end the game with a sharp intake of breath and thoughts of kicking the face off of the person who programmed it.
(, Mon 19 Jul 2010, 10:42, Reply)
you can finish those 99% of the times.
(, Mon 19 Jul 2010, 10:46, Reply)
I need to be playing to remember. Most of the time, when you're stuck and cant get more cards out of the pack into the table, you can put back some of the cards already ordered back into the table, and then get more of the pack out. Does that make sense?
