I like Terry Pratchett's theory that it's our brains filing our memories whilst we sleep
cranial admin if you will.

my daily activities have never included zombies
or being chased by monsters and I dream about that sort of thing frequently
(, Thu 29 Jul 2010, 13:19, Reply)
no but you've seen zombie films
hence, brain filing under "films I've seen"
(, Thu 29 Jul 2010, 13:20, Reply)
I don't dream about them when I've been watching the films though
I dream too much odd stuff for it to be filing.

I wouldn't go to Wincanton if I were you Monty.
They love him there, walk about the streets in character, and genearlly twat around to his glory.

Fucking weird.

Fucking gay, more like.

I used to see a Pratchett looky-likey on the way to work each day
Same hat, style of dress, glasses, beard, the works. What was infuriating about him wasn't the resemblance but that he would walk down the street whilst reading from a small laptop. A Darwin award waiting to happen.
(, Thu 29 Jul 2010, 14:05, Reply)
What. A. Spastic.

(, Thu 29 Jul 2010, 14:07, Reply)
I just don't get Pratchett
Sorry folks, but I don't.
I tried reading some of his stuff years ago but it just didn't grab me.
I haven't read Lord of the Rings or Hitchhikers Guide.

Does this mean I have to leave the internet?
(, Thu 29 Jul 2010, 14:35, Reply)
Oh the shame!
You don't have to leave but you will be put on a list and have to go about introducing yourself to other internet denizens making them aware of your hideous crimes.

To be honest I haven't read Lord of the Rings either. Read most of Hitchhikers Guide but I found the quality dipped later on. Read some Pratchett years ago but am not compelled to read any more, but then I have the same experience with most writers, three or four books is usually my limit before their style starts to grate.
