What kind of stuff is your college course about? If it's the new version of AutoCAD it will be able to do 3D, if not it'll be 2D stuff I think.

I have no idea, truth be told I haven't even downloaded it from the link they sent me yet
The degree is interior design, so it'll be interiors, buildings and perspective drawing, that kind of thing. The examples they've shown are 3D so I think it should be.

Google Sketchup!
Brilliant quick, a bit of a cheat, and entirely free. It doesn't render stuff and look amazing, but pretty good for what it is.

And am about to apply to 3 or 4 things. The problem is most say they want 2 or 3 years experience, and therefore none seem willing to give you that first 2 or 3 years of experience. Bitches.

yeah I've found that when scouting out the job market for interior designers
even the junior design jobs say "requires at least 2 years experience" so it appears I'm expected to do a voluntary internship until I'm considered experienced enough to employ, which is extremely difficult when you need food to live.

I'm going for something called a KTP instead
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, which need less experience, work half with unis and half with industry, but should count as experience when then applying for a job. And you get paid.

I was looking for an apprenticeship but they don't seem to do them for interior designers. The job prospects do look slightly better in Australia though so all is not lost

As a new graduate I wouldn't have the first clue where to start though
