I can cook a cracking steak
if that helps
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 10:48, Reply)
I need more in bound web enquiries for work so I can afford to buy steak!

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 10:50, Reply)
My friend does it,
you probably couldn't afford him though.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 10:49, Reply)
You don't know the budget so feel free to put him in touch with me - will gaz you my email address if you like

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 10:50, Reply)
go for it, I'll mail him your address and get sales or whatever to talk to you

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 10:53, Reply)
Done. Ta.

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 10:54, Reply)
Sadly I'm not.
What I am good at, though, is HAVING TICKETS TO SEE KRS1 IN OCTOBER, as of this morning.

You have no idea how apeshit a crowd can go until you've seen 'Sound of da Police' live. One of the high points of my gigging life.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:08, Reply)
For a minute there, Mont, I thought you meant KWS
I thought you'd been kidnapped and replaced.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:10, Reply)
I don't know who they are.

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:12, Reply)
Good

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:27, Reply)
I thought he meant
GLC
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:36, Reply)
safe as fuck

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:37, Reply)
Ken Livingstone?
Bit of a static performer, I've heard.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:38, Reply)
I've just booked tickets to see Stephen Fry
rather different to the tickets you've booked but I'm very much looking forward to it.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:19, Reply)
Where? and doing what?
I met him once. He gave a talk about the nature of tragedy and comdey at Winchester college. He knocked over his water and smashed the glass.

FACTS. ONLINE.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:20, Reply)
One man show at the Royal Albert Hall - 20th Sept. Pricey tickets though - £55 each plus booking fee

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:22, Reply)
That's a fucking ridiculous price.

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:23, Reply)
They have to charge a lot
to entice him not to have a breakdown and run off to Belgium.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:24, Reply)
Ha.

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:25, Reply)
It is. But I am a big fan & it isn't something I would do very often.
Not having a holiday this year because of work so am treating myself to a few good nights out that I wouldn't normally spend money on instead
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:27, Reply)
Sublime have a song about KRS1
it's good.

also, I'm going to Monster Magnet in November in Cardiff. MONSTER FUCKING MAGNET! GET IN!
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:19, Reply)
are they doing London?

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:20, Reply)
Friday 26th November, Electric Ballroom
edit: I've just decided that I'm going to refer my nutsack as the electric ballroom from now on
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:24, Reply)
Bugger - the day before Motorhead so unlikely I'll be there.
Shame.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:29, Reply)
that is a shame
after seeing them I will have seen very nearly all my favourite bands (that are still together/alive)
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:29, Reply)
I wish I had seen RJD more than I did.

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:31, Reply)
I do too
I didn't really appreciate him enough when I did see him
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:33, Reply)
I cannot think of anyone I want to see really badly that I haven't
apart from the Jim Jones Revue - unless you count Led Zeppelin which is still technically possible albeit highly unlikely.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:37, Reply)
I've seen Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation
which was good enough for me. Particularly because it was £15 and I was really close to the great man.

I'd love to see Jim Jones Revue.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:38, Reply)
They toured recently
but did no London gig, the weirdos. I nearly went to Bedford to see them because I thought 'my brother lives in Bedfordshire so I can get a taxi to his afterwards'. For about £40, it transpired so it didn't happen.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:42, Reply)
what bastards
I'm pleased about Monster Magnet. They did one date last year, in London, or Manchester, mid-week. Pissed me right off.

My mrs was trying to keep the Cardiff one quiet from me, so she could surprise me, but my mate text me about it. She wasn't pleased, meant she has to find something else to surprise me with for my birthday (which incidentally is on Monday)
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:46, Reply)
You almost share a birthday with Rosilicious.

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:50, Reply)
hot
me and her should get it on
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:52, Reply)
You would make awesome hairy ginger babies

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:55, Reply)
hmm, perhaps not then

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:01, Reply)
I want to see loads of bands
but I never really get round to it. I'd also quite like to see Placebo again
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:57, Reply)
Remake the entire site in Wordpress...
I don't know how or why, maybe by some sort of magic, but Wordpress on your own domain, is fucking amazing at SEO stuff, there is nothing I can do that does it better than that.

I fucking hate doing SEO stuff.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:33, Reply)
I didn't build the site myself & wouldn't know how to redo it.
The site is www.brandrep.co.uk
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:44, Reply)
Brand Pain?
Is this another buzz phrase we should all be using now
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:49, Reply)
Hello TGB
how has your vagina coped without me mocking it for nearly a month?
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:50, Reply)
It's shrunk

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:52, Reply)
Nope.
It's supposed to be a polite way of describing companies that are in the shit.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:51, Reply)
I'm a bit shit at SEO, I don't advertise it as something I 'do'...
.. or more like, I always say "I code the site properly, so it will hit google, but you wont' hit the 'big boys [of your industry], so go for obscure local things. Like if you're based in Harrow and are an estate agent, aim for things like 'Harrow estate agent' or 'harrow property lader', rather than 'london properties'.... so I'll do my best, but I'm no expert on this."

Looking at the code, use jQuery to run all the javascript, and although Google doesn't really count Metas that much any more, other search engines do, so get the metas right.

Link Exchanges with affiliate buisnesses are fantastic ways of get objetive traffic through your door.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:52, Reply)
Thanks Gonz.

[from what you said down there...]
When it comes to setting up social network based links, make sure it's relivent social networks, like forums based on your industry, and check the social network you're doing that on is indexed by google.... no point in hooking up on, for example, a year ago, Facebook, because the profile wasn't indexed.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:08, Reply)
blog-commenting is great, as you can say what you want, and thus make it relivent to the result you want.
Like, for example, if you find a blog based on a new product that needs marketing (which, without reading your site, I think is your main objective), you could leave a message like....

"Fantastic product, I like the way X does Y. Have you thought about branding on the site? Over at www.brandrep.co.uk, my friend managed to get the packaging done blahdy blah blah, email me at me at brandrep.co.uk and we'll see what we can do".

Email is fantastic, but not templated emails, I look for buisness cards with @hotmail or @gmail [etc] addresses, which mostly don't have any kind of website, and contact them personally. I tend to go through local newspapers, as that proves they're up for advertising, I say something like "Imagine an advert in the paper, but with no size limit on content, full colour, animated.... it's a great extention to your advert".
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:13, Reply)
I like this & we will do it. Thank you.
We do email marketing (have an ACT! db with about 2000 companies on it) and I am using Linkedin to contact people directly as well.
(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:18, Reply)
Niiiice.

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:25, Reply)
You deffo seem to be on the ball on this one, good luck, eventually you'll be picking'n'choosing clients =)

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:31, Reply)
I wish!

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:31, Reply)
We did this thanks - used namechk.com to see which sites ranked highly too.

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:15, Reply)
Sweet !

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 12:26, Reply)
You just performed basic SEO by putting that link there

(, Thu 5 Aug 2010, 11:53, Reply)
I have set up profiles on about 40ish social networks and included the URL in the profile.
I haven't spammed though - not putting it other peoples blog comments, not using link farms etc. Am considering registering with a few directories and will link to other pages on the site not just the homepage.

I want to get good results on search returns on related searches eg brand agency.
