With only 10ish minutes to go...
...I formally declare today the shittiest Saturday in history.

Major stress at work - big delays and a nasty chav woman spat on me -
all because her train to ChavCentral (or Chatham as it's known by the Ordnance Survey) was cancelled.

Big whoop - sorry you can't meet your chavmates in some dive bar and get neanderthal males to buy you WKD or some random engergy drink mixed with bulgarian vodka.

Not nice... but tell me - having been the undeserving recipient of such vulgarity.... how SHOULD have I reacted?

Obvious AltQ: What's p*ssed you off this weekend?

Yeah, i would probably spit on you if you took that attitude towards me too.
Just cus someone is a chav, in your opinion, don't mean they are scum.
For all you know it could have been someone wanting to see their mum on her death bed.

A chav mum on her death bed is a good thing, Gonz.

Gonz - honestly who goes to visit their dying mum in a miniskirt, silvery top with breath that could strip paint? And spitting on someone is not nice - I guess in your plush executive office where you don't deal with the general public, all you get is young girls/boys handing you coffee and doffing their caps to your wonderfulment...

Maybe she thought she would get some clubbing in while she isbin town visiting her mum on her deathbed?
I deal with the public all the time, just the other day I was walking through my office block on One Canada Square when a deliveryboy delivering very important business documents managed to get onto the 52nd floor of my building, he asked me for directions to the legal department, I called him a silly sausage as it is on floor 86 and asked him to straighten his lower class gucci bow tie.

You know, visiting mum on her deathbed and going clubbing... Killing two birds with one stone.

You should have grovellingly apologised
for the shitness of the british public transport system. Indeed, you should have begged passersby to punch you in the head to convey their feelings of betrayal as their tax money is funnelled into the bank accounts of CEOs rather than into new trains/tracks.
(, Sun 8 Aug 2010, 0:34, Reply)

My response to the above arguement is usually:-

1) I get up at 3am to do a job that over 99% of the population are not able to do - I want to do it, because I like it (not the whole chav+spit part)
2) Just because I work here, doesn't mean I like the system - it's shite and everyone knows it.
3) You've had brand new trains and tracks - the public seem to think that it's acceptable to vom all over the place every night, throw themselves infront of me or just stab each other (Ref: See www.b3ta.com/questions/rippedoff/post72396).
4) CEOs *are* moneyrobbingc#nts - but if you voted for the tories in 1992, knowing full well what they wanted to do (privatise the railway), then voted for the nu-labour lot in 1997 (knowing full well the lot of them are money grabbing arses) - only to survice your own fickle ends - I have no sympathy.

Being spat on while doing your job isn't nice - maybe some of you office drones/supposed nu-media flounces should try it....

Bristol City FC
Lost 3-0 and there was a worrying amount of pre and post match 'aggro'.

That pisses me off as I hate that sort of thing. (The violence, rather than a better side beating my team at football). Although City losing is annoying too.

@Coopsweb
Myself and La Poulet Madame both use that line often - you'll find me on the 7:25 service that stops at London Bridge most days.

We have a quite laconic driver over the tannoy some mornings, I can only imagine that's yourself?

isn't it past your bedtime?
(, Sun 8 Aug 2010, 1:52, Reply)
Yeah...
...am having to stay up to test nugget#2's blood sugar though.

@PJM
Thankfully I no longer drive anywhere near London Bridge...

You poor bugger - having to go to Chatham
I climb indoors sometimes at Rochester and a lot of the guys are a nice but rough old crowd from Chatham and Strood. When I left my ex I had serious offers to have him done over for a very small sum.

The Medway towns - proper scary!

@cl
Almost every problem I have at work involves Strood, Chatham, Gillingham (especially) and sometimes Rainham. Thankfully I don't have to go that way too often.

Gillingham High Street is a scarey place!

Yep. Sounds familiar
One friend of mine is a policeman there. Lovely guy but hard as nails and to be honest I'd never, ever want to a)get on the wrong side of him or b) be in an enclosed space on my own with him - lovely but ever so slightly scary.

That's vile behaviour.
I've worked with autistic children for the last 10 years. During that time I've been kicked, punched, head-butted, bitten - fine, it's usually the lack of communication skills causing a huge build up of frustration. However, some of them were in the habit of spitting in our faces which is hideous. At least these kids had severe learning difficulties, whereas the chav did not have that excuse. It's a nasty thing to do and you have my utmost sympathy.
