I'm claustraphobic. I hate being trapped in a small space with a load of people.

If I'm honest, I hate planes too. I'm afraid of heights.

but I love flying. It's ladders, cliffs and the like that give me the willies. 36000 feet in an aeroplane is no problem. 6 feet up a ladder and I'm shaking like a shitting dog.

It's just an annoying experience all round.

I can't sleep sitting up, so the journey is a bit uncomfortable. But that's outweighed by the positive aspect, i.e. the excitement of going away somewhere.
I'm driving this year though, so it's not an issue.

sleeping sitting up isn't that hard with the right preparation.

I love flying, my father designed bits of planes and his brother was a test pilot at one time.
However all of us share a very healthy fear of climbing ladders or multi-storey car parks.

Make sure you turn up to the airport on the right day.

I only turned up 24 hours early and they wouldn't let me fly.
