A postscript to my whinging from yesterday

regarding my work colleagues failure to recognise my 40th birthday yesterday.

Turns out that they all DID know about it. And most of them were there at my regular Tuesday night visit to the pub quiz, which for the night had been converted into a pub quiz / surprise 40th birthday party.

My partner managed to contact a work mate of mine through Facebook and organise the whole thing without me getting wise to what was going on.

Maybe they're not such a useless shower of bastards after all. :-D

It was a really great night!
All my work mates were there - family, mates from my sports team - as well as the usual Tuesday night pub quiz crowd. My partner put on a huge buffet, got a friend down to the pub early to get everyone a drink etc. It must have cost her a bloody fortune and taken ages to plan. I'm a very lucky boy.

It was just an update on yesterday's post.
I mistakenly thought that my work mates were a shower of miserable bastards, when in actual fact they'd gone to a lot of time and effort for me. This, as you would expect, made me feel like a bit of a twat.

I had a few gazzes on the subject yesterday and thought it was an easy way to provide an update to those who were interested.
