doesn't it depend what you want to wear them with? Generally though, I would say leather. Some of the high street shops (DP, New look etc) have some fairly cheap but pretty decent looking boots in at the moment.

not a bad price though. I don't need fantastic ones (and can't afford them) just boots with a bit of a heel to wear with the plethora of knitted dresses and cardigans that will emerge with the onset of winter
