Garage is flooded so no drumming for me. Instead I have been listening to lots of music and had forgotten how much I loved Guns N Roses. Particularly the drum intro for this song.

I'm always astounded that people take GnR seriously. Are they not just a joke band?

Use your illusion 1 and 2 were fantastic albums. Appetite for Destruction is also incredible. The rest is pretty meh especially the bullshit that is the Chinese Democracy.

It's up there with Bohemian Rhapsody in the cringe stakes.
*edit*
And I am now listening to Public Enemy.

He might be a massive belmer but Axl Rose was a bit of a genius in my opinion.

And dreadful dress sense.
Now Public Enemy had it all- polemic, tunes, and a man with a massive clock around his neck.
BEAT THAT, PIRES!

A question for all along the same lines of rediscovering music from your past, I recently found a couple of albums I hadn't listened to for about ten years or so. One was Sonic Youth 'Dirty', the other was 'Black Love' by The Afghan Whigs. 'Dirty' still sounds interesting and fresh whereas 'Black Love' sounded a bit macho and silly.
Which albums from your youth have really stood the test of time and which seem a bit iffy when listened to today?

Hasn't stood up to the ravages of time- Faith No More- Angel Dust.

oh there's another one. I hope you're wrong. That said I never really followed Mike Patton beyond FNM, I know some people who insist everything he does is gold but I'm not convinced.

good question though. I will think on it. Ok thought on it.
Alkaline Trio - From here to the infirmary
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Deftones - White Pony
Guns N Roses - UYI 1&2, Appetite for Destruction
Faith No More - The Real Thing
Foo Fighters - The colour and the shape
Incubus - Morning View and Make Yourself
Shit loads man. Could you tell I was just going through my ipod.

Mostly, not a bad list though.
You should listen to 'Light Grenades' by Incubus though, probably their best album IMO
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 23:13, Reply)
but Morning View and Make yourself were huge for me during teen years. Good memories. I thought it was but played it safe. They are awesome. The drummer is a talented chap.
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 23:18, Reply)
But Light Grenades is my favourite.

I've got some work to do, I'm tired, and fairly hungry, and pretty ill.
And the only reason I'm happy is that I got a new high score on Robot Unicorn Attack :/

Not fucking happy at all.

at least your prick boss isn't being a helmet. No way you can dodge it? What's your opinion on Guns N Roses?
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 23:17, Reply)
It's a full dayer, I'm needed to man the phones.
Guns N Roses were once superb, and still have their great tracks, but they've been run into the ground by the knobhead that leads them.
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 23:18, Reply)
Plumdozer should pay bloody attention.
