There is a fair coming to Banbury and I asked "oh is it the mop?" to be met with blank looks.

Is this terminology localised to Warwickshire or are the people I work with idiots?

Never heard of it.

This served to do nothing but utterly confuse me
And I'm pretty sure I'm not just being an idiot. I just refer to the fair that comes here twice as a year as the 'chav-magnet'.

I've heard the term 'mop' used before.
I don't like the word.

I really hope I'm still signed in on my phone or that's going to be a bitch

Localised, but I obviously know what you mean
Wikipedia doesn't have anything on it.

Man, you won't last five minutes in London talking that country shit.

Ooh, I know about the Mop !
Used to go to it as a child as lived near Stratford.

It was also mentioned on the Archers last night, which shows how sad I am for (a) remembering and (b) listening to it.
