1. Rare roast beef, tomato and moutarde, in granary baguette. And a crafty wank for pudding.
2. My favourite fucking what?

EDIT Lighty's got me thinking - 'Can The Can' by Suzi Quatro or 'Blockbuster' by The Sweet, perhaps?

Fucking LOVE that record.
Mind you I also like Gary Glitter's classics too.

I dreamt last night that I was on a tour of Liverpool's skankiest shopping centre
Gary Glitter was also on the tour, along with Josef Fritzl.
They did not arrive together and it appeared they did not know each other.

Do you remember a film that came out in the cinema in the late seventies staring some of the bands of that time?

(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 13:45, Reply)
No but I shall investigate.
Have you ever seen Slade's film? It's hilarious.
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 13:46, Reply)
That's the one.
I thought there were other bands in it too. I remember seeing it at the local flea pit and thinking it was ace.

Bah, you've made my reply below look stupid now!
Anyway, in other tenuously related news. I have decided that I shall attend the 1970s themed party at the weekend as a skinhead. as it only requires one hair cut, one pair of braces and some Dave and Ansil Collins records.
I'm currently in negotiations to borrow a space hopper to arrive on.

I remember Slade did Slade in Flame and Gary Glitter did one
but I don't remember one featuring several groups.

That dance is called 'The Flying Angel'.
I regard it as the second best dance (after 'Uprocking') ever.

what is your view on the song Staying Alive?
also, Nick Hornby: yay or nay?
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 13:41, Reply)
1. Shit*
2. Nay. I have only read 'High Fidelity' which was frankly embarrassing, and a couple of articles about music, in which he showed himself to be a cock.

*they did do a couple of good psychedelic numbers around the '67 mark: check out 'Mrs Gillespie's Refrigerator', but the cod-disco stuff was pretty fucking awful I think, there were much better disco acts out there.

Not sure what made me think of Staying Alive, but it was in my head
I was reading some slim volumes while waiting for my mrs to finish a book. One of which was High Fidelity, and as I was reading I thought "I wonder what Monty thinks of this?"

In hindsight, I should have asked myself "I wonder how shit Monty thinks this is?"

Nick Hornby is shit
though About a Boy actually has one or two redeeming features
(, Mon 11 Oct 2010, 13:50, Reply)
Not that I recall!

I have had to go on youtube to refresh my memory of 'Can the Can'
Oh, Suzi, how your leather trousers stirred strange new feelings as I lay on the floor watching Top of the Pops.

I really, really fancied her in 'Happy Days'.

Happy days, indeed.
